I'm gonna say VR Troopers sounds better on actual Genesis hardware. Also they never checked out the story mode, it was robbed. There's a talking dog with numbers behind it!

I would have liked to see this go back to 1977. The games that rattled around in my head immediately came out before I was born (the year before this list starts).

I'm actually bored watching any console games before the NES being played, but even some 2600 games really exude a styyyyyle beyond their time. But only a few in this site would be able to do that without doing some seriously comprehensive research beforehand. Like probably Jeff and Mento. Good job on the past 25 years, though!

Really disappointed that Street Combat wasn't just a super bizarre Street Fighter ripoff instead of a conduit for Jason to talk about anime.

Golden Axe plays fine.

And yeah I preordered this right after the Switch Direct and Jeff really mentioned the issue I have with it. Free Play only makes this shit boring. I've always preferred console ports of arcade games (back when it was worth the time and effort to make effective ports) to any sort of emulated arcade experience. I would rather take a hit to graphics and sound, honestly.

I wish it were easier for them to get into the ROM itself to make changes to a game that was built to run on quarters.. that'd be ideal, but too much effort I assume.

@noelveiga: The remake was made in France. I never played it since I have it for the Master System, but I really appreciate that they were able to let you flip back and forth between the old/new graphics. All the Wonder Boy/Monster World games were originally developed by Westone/Sega in Japan until now.

I'd be much more interested if this were a 3rd person game.
