I am so fuckin' tired of Alex calling every fanbase hostile. Can you just stay off the Internet if you think the sky is falling over every little thing? You'd think a grown ass man who has been in the industry so long would have a thicker skin.
People are assholes. Avoid/block/disengage with them. Welcome to any community ever, every podcast it feels like he has to comment on the Internet being a dumpster fire or something equally 'edgy'. I have a pleasant experience online, whether it be browsing forums or playing some games with 'randos', thank you very much. How? I make use of the features websites/games give me, it's not hard to ignore the handful of dickheads I encounter. hurr 2018 y'all hurrrrr.
Blanket calling cryptocurrency a scam is misinformed as well, if you're not willing to look into the very legitimate projects that are NOT focused on the value of their coin/token, then just be quiet instead of throwing every project under the bus.
The SFV ad situation is some bullshit, sure you can turn it off but the nerve of Capcom adding that to a game where they still haven't attempted to improve the netcode even once after almost 3 years (over 3 if you include beta) is too much for me. Money hungry eSports trash, hope VI is a marked improvement.
Another thing to consider is SFV is a huge rip off compared to the previous game. Remember when people thought only having to buy one version would be a better deal for the consumer? Yeeeeeeah nope... you got more value for money upgrading to each version of SFIV than you do buying season passes, someone did the math on it before and SFIV was waaaaaaaaay better for the consumer. The $40 Super Street Fighter IV release had more characters than 2 season passes for V... (and even more if you include the other content like new modes/stages/ultra combos/trials)
Uh, this is a pretty hostile response for someone claiming not to be hostile.
I guess, just tired of hearing the same old crap every podcast.

I have to say, PSX games look pretty terrible. Even at the time, I remember thinking it looked bad. There's just something about it that seemed sort of cheap and slapdash. But despite that, it was a pretty great console. Too bad none of the best games are on here. No Final Fantasy Tactics, no sale. (not that I would buy it anyway...)
It depends, there is such a big disparity between games. I think MGS1, Tekken 3, sprite based Capcom games, Resident Evil 2 & 3, and Final Fantasy 7-9 still look good today, obviously low res and limited, but look at shit like Cool Boarders...
A launch PS3 remains the best way to play the PlayStation & PlayStation 2 library. Especially if you mod them so they can play the ISOs of your obviously self-made backups.
I highly recommend finding an OG PS3, changing the thermal paste and using that until it dies.
Really cool how Dan and Jeff take so much glee in trashing a game just to piss people off. You two are better than that
They're not, at least Dan is playful about it, Jeff seems like a bit of a dick personally (which I'm fine with) and if it wasn't for this website he'd probably be even more like this if not for risking tarnishing the site image.
It's refreshing to listen to Easy Allies lately because they seem to think more independently, Alex and Ben just seem to repeat whatever X people they follow on Twitter have been saying and I find their "fuck X corporation making money boo capitalism!" schtick overdone at this point. I overall like Alex but I think he is like a fish out of water when he starts with that crap.
@captubaplayer: it's tough being the youngest person in a crowded discussion.
I don't think it has much to do with age, you can be 40 with no tact or 20 and able to speak very elegantly.
Also I could be wrong but I was under the impression Abby is barely any younger than Jan, who is like 26 or something. It's just differences in personalities/mannerisms.
I just dare anyone to play a game during GOTY where you take a shot whenever someone says cohesive which seems to be GiantBomb's favourite word of the last year.
