Steiner is a high strung pompous ass and I love him. I will say that he is a character that I enjoyed immensely more on my second playthrough. I can assure you that he does grow and change as a character and that may make stomaching him a bit easier. You are also right about Vivi being the best character in the game. Vivi is arguably the best character in the entire series. In fact it is Zidane's interactions with Vivi that made me like Zidane a lot more as a character. Zidane is a bit of a weak protagonist, though. He isn't as insufferable as Squall, but he definitely is not as interesting as Cloud. Zidane is simply just sort of there. At least, for the most part of the game. The real meat of his character story comes towards the later half of the game and to be honest it is a bit of a slog to play through. Zidane's past is nowhere near as compelling or intriguing as Cloud. But hey, there is no orphanage level bullshit.

I can't wait to see what you think of Quina. What a garbage fire of a character.

With all the talk of John Wick on the last podcast I rewatched that film.

Holy shit, 10 out of five stars. That movie is so much more badass than I remember it being. My girlfriend watched it with me and about fifteen minutes in she got upset over the dog dying because she absolutely hates when dogs die in movies. She wanted to stop watching it but I convinced her to stick around because the dog is well more than avenged. She quickly got back on board with the film during the "the one you send to kill the fucking boogeyman" sequence.

Bloodborne is the must own exclusive. You need to get Bloodborne. Until Dawn and Uncharted 4 are also worth picking up.

Dark Souls III, Uncharted 4, and Hitman. Those are the top three, but the exact order of them is constantly changing.

My disappointment with Capcom is reaching almost Sega levels. I've never been big on Dead Rising, but I use to be a huge RE guy. Seeing that trailer and my own experience with the preview they put out earlier has left me completely uninterested in RE7. Oh well.

I always make a main team of 6 that develops over the play through. I also have some ones that I train up and have benched but ready to swap in at any point. The benched ones tend to be Pokemon that were moved out of the main part to make room for a newly acquired one or maybe a Pokemon of a type that I don't have represented in the main party. Sometimes you need a fire or a flying type. Focusing on leveling them all would be maddening. I didn't level every Persona I came across in P4. That too would have been an unoptimal to play that game.

I like it but I don't like that this is RE7. It feels more like Outlast or Amnesia than what I consider to be Resident Evil. The first person thing is really my main hangup. Yes, RE has done first person in the past, but it was always in spin off titles and I know that RE is different things to different people, but the one thing it has always been to me is third person. If this is what the series is to become then OK, it will probably be a good thing and the game will turn out excellent, however it is no longer going to give me what I want out of the series. I like spooky action games. I liked the slower pace of the older entries more than the more action oriented stuff, so in that regard this is very pleasing to me. Sadly, it feels like it is falling more in line with what is currently popular for horror games at the moment. RE became too action focused and in a lot of ways became just another shooter. This potentially could be doing a hard 180 to the other extreme and is now just another first person horror game for Youtube personalities to react to. I will have to see the final product.

Well it wouldn't take much to improve on my least favorite game of the generation.
