A hidden gem I used to play in high school but eventually lost is a DBZ fighting game (#2). All I know is that it's the second game in a three game series (1 and 3 weren't as good as 2). Otherwise, if you've got 20 games on your mind you're probably on the same page as me.

I really doubt that forum whiners is why Epic chose to forgo competitive multiplayer in their new game. Competitions always have their winners and losers (and whiners). Meanwhile MW3 tops the XBox Live charts all day every day. The whining probably seems louder because there's more voices bitching whereas the people who actually enjoy MW3 are just playing MW3.

I think Epic just wants to try something new. Part of making a successful competitive game is spending dev time on balance. I'm sure that after 3 games and months of balancing and tweaking and betas they'd rather just take another route and make something more fresh. GW3's multiplayer probably took at least 50% of the dev cycle to make (as well as post-launch work creating patches, etc).

I still want to know who this "No-One Man" is, and why he should have more power. Is he like Batman? There's nothing on Comic Vine about him.

(yes, I actually checked. I've heard way worse superhero names.)

The quote originally referred to Malcolm X

There's a mod out there that combines both BG1 and 2 so that they're one seamless game. i wish I could nab the link for you, but I'm drunk off Christmas food =(

Your taste is pretty varied, which is awesome. I liked your list, but "The Morning" wasn't my favorite Weeknd song from that album (the title track is). When The Weeknd raps on that second half, I'm hooked. Did you like Goblin by Tyler the Creator?

Midnight City is definitely up there, so I'm happy to see it given high praise here. No love for the new Portugal the Man though? I like that album a whole lot.

Midnight City by M83, Tron Cat by Tyler the Creator, and House of Balloons/Glass Table by The Weeknd would be my top picks for the year.

Good list though. You write like you've written album reviews before. I admire when people can write about music; it's damn hard to put how you feel about what you're hearing into words on paper.

"I'm awesome, and I fuck dolphins" -Tyler the Creator on Tron Cat

Honestly, I don't know why the fuck you want to spend $60 on a game that you're not sure you're going to want to play it for more than 30 days.

Well, when it comes to any other game, I'm sure the OP likes to rent/GameFly/pirate (at least I do), but MMOs don't have that luxury. Unless there is a promotion of free game time? (like a 7 day trial ala WoW?)

30 days is not a bad lifetime for a video game, too. But personally I like to get more than that when I drop 60$.

Also, anyone remember the good ol days when PC titles were 50$?

EDIT: Too lazy to grab the quote, but when I was a kid and didn't have any debit/credit card, WoW let me use prepaid cards and would simply cut my account when it ran out of time. It's definitely a new practice to require the payment info of your card.

It's also not a coincidence that by making the charge automatic after your 30 day trial, companies make more money than if they did the right thing and cease your account until you add your payment info.

I expect this show will be bashed to hell, and maybe it deserves it for the later seasons, but people seem to forget about season 1.

Season 1 of Heroes was great. Like any tv show season it had it's bad episodes, it's slow burners, and it's amazing standout episodes. I wouldn't place it as high as say "Breaking Bad", but it could easily compare to the likes of "Lost" or "Dexter." However, everything after season 1...

I think the writer's strike killed it. Season 2 was abysmal. Season 3 was on an upward curve in terms of quality, but season 2 ruined that show and tainted it. I never actually finished season 3.

Basically, I just want to remind everyone that there was a good season of this show.

I came here to basically say "just watch season 1". It's a great comic come to life and told in a thrilling way (and with a great supervillian). The other seasons just weren't quality TV, but the first was a treat. It even has closure, so you can only watch the first season and enjoy a good story.
