@spazmaster666:@lordofultima: Okay, fair points. Maybe I'd rather have a 'best value' category next time. Is it a stretch to call it the best fighting game release this year?
Duder, I was going to make the exact same topic. I don't remember hearing a single mention =(
I'm wondering if GB decided that price doesn't factor in their deliberations at all? $40 for this game is one of the finest deals (on disc) for 2010. If someone wants the most value and longevity out of 40 bones, this game is it.
"Also, sniping the pilot (or gunners/passengers on the sides) is easier now, so now snipers are more important in that regard, now being one of the few team tools available to take down choppers with a single well placed shot. I had fun this weekend with that. "
So glad to hear that. Apache pilots have gotten damn good these days at out-strafing any kind of anti-heli fire.
sunovabich, I can't wait for this release for 360. I feel like the BC2's playerbase is a little split with the four new maps and as such games like to empty out when an old map comes in rotation. It sounds like good times ahead when you merge all the Battlefield fans onto the same 4 maps. Cherry on top: the fifth map gets released after 69million team-things and all the sudden a surge of war happens on that map that day =) Really excited. @Rorie said:
" Helicopters can prove annoying unless your team concentrates small arms on them to take them down quick"
Small arms taking down helicopters? Is this new or am I reading it wrong?
"You are what they refer to over on Gamebattles as Pub Stars.
You would be better off giving up on everything you just said, adopting the purple penises and running around aimlessly.
Also also never use the term "Try Hard" Kids have no idea what it originated from or what if even means anymore. They sound so fucking stupid trying to use it. "
Wow... at least the first half of your post kinda sounded like advice? And then you bust a really ironic calling out of the term "try hard"? What is going on...
A time limit of 10 seconds would make things interesting. Something to make it more than just video submissions with no rules besides 'keep it short'. Some gimmick? A prize? No clue.
For me, Double Agent was a severe disappointment compared to Chaos Theory for me. It's good, but it's not great like Chaos Theory was. The Double Agent aspect of the game felt half-assed, and wasn't very fully developed. But I will say that the music is excellent; best in the series.
[snip]
Gears of War 2's single-player and horde mode didn't disappoint. But like Modern Warfare 2, the multi-player is broken to all Hell.
"
Totally, 100% agree on both of those. More recently I have two games on my sequel-shit-list:
Force Unleashed 2 was a damn travesty. They learned nothing about their mistakes from the first game. Minimalistic UI? Yeah, sure, that's what I wished I had in the first iteration =/ DBZ: Raging Blast 2 was another big disappointment for me. I expected more 'freedom' and fixed camera problems; they thought gamers wanted dozens of characters no one knew and more combos. Another 'feh'.
For me, I am most disappointed when I play something and think, "If this had more polish and less jank, I could really love this game," then they go and add fluffy bullcrap instead of meaningful engine changes to the sequel (New Vegas, you almost stepped in that shit pile but narrowly escaped by making Unarmed and Speech better skill choices).
