It seems assault rifles in general do more damage.
The SVD and M21 are clones of each other (as expected).
The M40 has a ridiculous OHK range, around 45 meters with magnum ammo (assuming target has no body armor).
The M1911 is still the M1911. The TT33 is a clone of the M9.
The M1 Garand is basically the same. The M1A1 got a bit of a buff.
The M60 is pretty beastly again.
I'm not sure I understand the M14's role in all of this.
If no medkits or water are around, you're going to get wasted by a flamethrower. Only 3 "hits" of flame need to get you before there will be enough burn damage to do you in over time.

To be fair, I read the word straight from Notch before reading this article or your thread and thought the same thing this article originally stated. Notch worded it poorly.
