@insane_metalist: What you said notwithstanding, I like the case shrugmoji. Capacity for upcycling should have been part of Apple product design for a long time and regardless of the condition, I'm here to applaud the salvage and retrofit of something that Apple designed to only be used in the way they intended.
Your case is cool too, MSi never steered me wrong. Spec is a beast.
Thanks I appreciate it. I guess everyone has their own preferences. I do like older style cases though. I have an older style case as back up.. It's a full tower Thermaltake S71 Urban w/ a side panel but it seems so small compared to tempered glass cases now days. Still a cool case and has a docking station for HDD and SSD. That was my most expensive case... paid $140 (not including taxes) had SLI 780 Ti in it at one point. I loved that older cases had plenty of HDD mounts. Tempered glass cases seem to have 2 slots and few SSD mounts. I plan on sticking with this MSI X370 mobo for a while if all goes as planned. Once 4th gen Zen chips release.. I'm gonna snag a 3700X/3800X for cheap and throw it in here with a BIOS flash for Zen2 obviously. I haven't had any problems with MSI either. Mostly had Asus mobos and one MSI Z170 GD-65 mobo. For cheaper builds like I have in my other room which has a Ryzen 5 1600 in it, I used an ASRock AB350 Pro4 mobo. I also had ASRock Z170 Extreme4 for another build and ASRock hasn't given me any problems even though I have a friend that's anti ASRock lol. I sold him my 6700K - Asus Z170-AR - 16GB DDR4 G.Skill Trident Z components back in Spring of 2018. He's still rocking that setup and has no problems playing games at all on a 34" Ultrawide w/ a 1080 Ti (overkill for his monitor since it's 2560 X 1080 but he has had it for a long while now). I have a 32" 1440p monitor and it's the perfect size for this res IMO. I had multiple 27" 1440p monitors in past and they were just a bit too small for my liking but been rocking 1440p since 2014.. damn already been 6 yrs and we're only now getting 4K 60fps ready GPUs. Yet they were advertising 4K monitors back then for true PC gaming... lol reminds me of Nvidia and their RTX 3090 launch w/ "8K Ready"... it's only like 10% faster than an RTX 3080 and twice the price. It shouldn't be advertised as a gaming GPU. It's for content creators.. that's where it really shines *RTX 3090*.
