SE for 4 was significantly more content than Definitive Edition was for DmC. The other thing is DMC4 didn't have fundamentally poor design to fix outside of its relatively mundane level design, that's a huge undertaking to address in a special edition. DmC was filled with tons of silly design decisions that were just flat out counter intuitive to its core mechanics. As you state you're not there for the combat I can see how you'd see SE for 4 as a cash in but as a fan of DMC4 and 3 it was a fantastic package.

Also lets not forget DmC Definitive was a full repurchase where 4SE was $20 at most.

I too get frustrated at a lot of dismissive comments about the original games but lets take solace in that were getting DMC5.

Well you can actually see object culling/NPC pop-in in the trailer so it is in-engine albeit in very vertical slice form.

I refuse to believe they can sustain that level of art for the entirety of a game. It's just too far ahead interms of current industry standard for me to be a believer.

It has no discernible identity of its own. It looks like money, it looks like a business person put a bunch of pictures on a board in-front of Bioware directors and said "I want that one, that one, this one... oh and these too!"

The mobility looks slow and doesn't seem to actually serve any actual gameplay purpose other than "oh and you can fly", which in that case I start getting concerned about a total lack of interesting level design because hey why not just fly over it all? The shooting looks mundane and most of the monsters are so standard fare they look like humanoids with crustation outer shells.

It'll probably succeed but man it comes across in a similar way as the cynical announcement of Radical Heights.

@humanity: I feel like higher mobility goes against what IO percieves 47s approach to his contracts would be. The last thing I want to see 47 doing is climbing about like Sam Fisher.

47 being a tank like man that blends in with the social environment rather than skulking around in the shadows is what helps keep Hitmans mechanical identity.

Shame to hear (and see) it's a let down. Here's hoping that Scorn will be a much better game, which it already looks like more of a game than walking simulator.

@gtb08: Ladder sliding is still in you just need to stop and hold circle.
