  • Have a vague memory of this one. Must've been 4-5 years old when I got it. I remember the christmas as one happy occasion. However, I also remember that there was no AI in it, so I always had to get either a family member or a friend to play with me.

  • As I realized that computers could not do everything (like printing out the winning lotto numbers for the next week, as I got taught in the tv-series of early 80s) I instead got interesting in what they could do. There were some pretty good games on the Spectrum, even if the keys were made of rubber and graphics lacked in various areas compared to more popular home computers.

  • I got the newer model of the C64. C64 Slim as it probably would've been called today instead of the breadbox model that all my friends had. I remember the floppy-reader I had as an add-on. It was twice as big as the computer and had some problem where I had to turn it on for 10 minutes, quickly reboot it and then it would work flawlessly.

Sadly, all my friends moved on to the next platform, so I didn't keep the C64 for very long.

  • Ah, the A500. Where I learned to program for real (and not just type in page after page of '420 DATA 10,243,31,41,40,100,99' from computer magazines) and also where gaming started to really impact my performance in school.

Even if I followed under the banner for a very long time, I could not escape the 'new' platform that started to make a real stride in the world.

  • Got myself an Xbox when I got tired of driver updates. Chipped it so I could use the mediaplayer functionality. Learned to code somewhat on it.

But mostly played games on it.

  • Got this hoping it would help me during commutes. Found it very boring.

  • Obviously.
