Apparently there's been a third explosion, though it's suspected to be a controlled explosion from the bomb squad investigating another package. There was also a serious fire at the JFK library almost immediately after these explosions; though there's no confirmed link between the two events yet. But still.

That was confirmed to be a controlled explosion from the bomb squad, it was put out over police radio systems.

So we know now that it wasn't an accident right?

If game industry folk didn't post there it would be just another forum for games. Alas for some reason people from the industry go there and it amps the reputation. Heck, I've heard Brad say "I read on NeoGaf" way more often than "I read on OUR forums"

Last time I saw him on there he was challenging anyone ragging on his Starcraft II skill. Don't know if anything became of it.

I was under the impression that it was for people in the gaming industry, and that's why application was curated (you had to prove you had a gaming site or worked at a game company), but it turns out it's just a place for dick-biting shit-lickers.

It's apparently just a place where people from the gaming industry flock, probably because other people from the gaming industry are already there so it's this one big happy family. Just surprised that Jeff and the gang built this amazing database of info on their site but didn't think to try and bring industry folk to their own forums. They could really build something special if they just attracted a lot of industry dev's to post on their forums and made them a more serious place, but at this point it's probably hard to fight with Neogaf which is the established meeting spot.

Though Giant Bomb has been known to have an occasional developer pop in. Though I don't know if any of them stick around. It might be because we don't treat them like rock stars maybe? I know I've read some posts from that game about tech support or whatever. There's that guy that made No Time To Explain. And the guy who was acting like programming is all easy (it's not) that has the Abe Lincoln fighting stance avatar that was making a Lincoln Force game.

Maybe we should try attracting more gaming journalist by talking about drinking our own semen and catching our shit and licking it to see what it tastes like. That'd get Brad back over here at least.

I like my pizza's classic thank you. None of this "I'm bored let's see what I can get away with" pizza topping stuff.

Unwilling to tolerate new players? That sounds like a great way to kill a community surrounding a game. Every game needs new blood.

It's really not, though, and is one of the common misconceptions about the game. When you first start out, matchmaking only matches you up with people who have as many wins as you (i.e. in your first games you're going to be playing with people who have <10 wins). You aren't going to be playing with dudes who have a thousand hours under their belt when you first start your Dota career. You're playing with guys who are just as new as you are in no way 'veterans.' It's just the same as getting on XBL and being yelled at by a 12 year old over a headset on Battlefield. Everybody knows to just ignore that kid because he's an idiot, so why do people who are new to Dota not do the same thing?

Do you think this is due to the fact that Dota 2 is free to play? Seems like that always brings in a special flavor of rotten human beings.

Of course. They've been getting a bad rap since arcades became popular. Video games have been getting blamed by idiot politicians and friends for 30+ years now. It's nothing new.

I get the worst feeling of buyers remorse when I remember that I spent $40 on this game back before the TNT it was on. That game turned out to be so bad that it practically ruined Trackmania too.

People wanted an Elder Scrolls MMO, and so they got it.

Who are these people?

I know. Ungrateful? Be careful who you're calling ungrateful son, it makes you look incompetent.
