@therealturk: Yeah, the credit concept got me too. Another thing I noticed but didn't really go into with the blog, was how the Angarans and Kett seem to have Milky Way-like (or, really, Earthly) motivations like greed, lust for power, dominance, freedom, etc. This is a brand new galaxy where anything is possible and the game falls back to old tropes. There are also little nitpicky leaps in logic like, say, Jaal translating a concept that has a unique Angaran name but a very Earthly definition (of course, right now, I can't think of an example). Not only would Jaal need to have a pretty great command of English to translate that concept but also of Milky Way, or specifically Human, cultures. But, if I remember right, he had done this already fairly soon after meeting us.

@bladeofcreation: I just looked it up and you’re totally right. Apparently it takes place between ME 2 and 3 and the initiative had nothing to do with the Reapers. I like how my comment about the game’s story geting off to a rough start, being wrong, takes place near the start of my blog.

@darthorange:

Hey man, once you know a level, or you take a level slow and cautious out the gate, Souls-like games (it's official to me) can certainly be relaxing.

@sparky_buzzsaw:

It was really good. I loved how they handled the Joker. I remember having such a weird reaction after he, the Joker, had killed a bunch of people accidentally during one of his episodes and for a moment legitimately trying to think of how to get him out of it.

Yeah, I feel sort of 'meh' about the games this year too, overall. But this year has kind of been a bitch. So I wonder how much of that impacted our enjoyment of games.

I had the thought today, while running my therapy session (I'm a therapist), that if I were recorded while working and that recording were put up for public consumption how idiotic would I sound and how many holes could be punched in what I say? It must be a scary thing to put this stuff out there, unrehearsed and unscripted, knowing that you will be analyzed by your fans.

Man, this is one of the most unappealing games I've seen in a while.
