I absolutely loved the first game in the series and the scope, based on this trailer, of "X" seems to be huge.

There are mechs, cars, spaceships, giant tentacled water or maybe earth creatures, etc..

According to the end of the new video the game will release sometime in 2015 which is fine with me, because as of right now, there isn't a huge number of games that I'm looking forward to this year so I think I could find the time to pour 50-100 hours into a well made JRPG.

If you own a Wii and haven't played the first Xenoblade Chronicles then give it a shot if you can find a copy for a decent price.

So, here's the trailer. What do my JRPG fans out there think about it?

VR will be enjoyable for what it is I'm sure. I just don't look forward to trying to get someones attention while they're using it. I don't look forward to walking into a room and see a bunch of stoned out, drooling, morons flapping about while playing their game in their own isolated universe.

I am with Miyamoto that it is a really isolating technology. Everyone is already looking down at their phones and ignoring everything around them, this just seems like the next step in that crappy aspect of technological progression. Also, Facebook is a disgusting company.

I feel like a grandpa yelling about those damn kids.

Glad you liked Wolfenstein so much. That game is faaaantastic.

Hearing about the Facebook acquisition of Oculus destroyed the extremely minimal amount of curiosity I had for that product. I'm not looking forward to the one Sony is making either. I just want to kick back and play a game... no gimmicks.

Miyamoto is exactly right in that regard. I feel like an old man too when I talk about VR but honestly it's something that I see making a small impact when it releases. I can't see them making it appealing enough to convince casual or on the fence gamers to spend $200-$300 dollars on another gaming device.

@ravelle: Yep, I just kind of beat my head up against a wall for a few hours when I played it. I managed to refrain myself from playing anymore of it last night. It seems okay but there's just something about it that I hate.

I actually wrote a somewhat lengthy blog a few weeks ago where my Most Anticipated Backlog Game of 2015 while also discussing a few other games that I hope to get to.

I have since however added some games not mentioned in the blog that I'm hoping to play sooner rather than later like Max Payne 3, Shadowrun Dragonfall, Gods Will Be Watching, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and too many more to name actually.

@cornbredx: Screw it dude, lol... I know you were proud of his career, I would have been if it was my dad. No one will think anything other than that...

Shattered Memories is definitely an experience worth having...

@cornbredx: Just noticed he was an actor, that's awesome...

Shattered Memories is really good and uses the WiiMote in some really unique ways. It's also fairly short so it isn't too hard to push through.

I saw Paper Mario in that pic.. it's a good game.

Sorry about your dad mate... he had awesome hair.

I played a ton of Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, probably my most played game on the system even though I played a lot of Skyward Sword, Mario Kart, and Smash too. Silent Hill Shattered Memories was a very unique and cool experience on the Wii as well.

I bought the Wii for the party aspect of it, it was the easiest console in the world to play with non-gamers. If someone unfamiliar with gaming came over to the apartment you could hand them a WiiMote and let them play bowling on Wii Sports, it was fun for that, but then I started to see some actual good games come out for it like the ones I mentioned above.

I can't recommend Xenoblade Chronicles enough to JRPG fans.
