Depends on the platform, is a little clunky, but you can kinda deal with it on the console versions. With you talking about UI mods, I'm guessing you're on the PC, in which case it's a typical Console to PC UI jobbie, bit unintuitive, same story as the PC version of Oblivion (or any Bethesda RPG post-Morrowind). Haven't looked into UI modding yet unfortunately.

I loved FFX, enough so that playing it on the PS2 still doesn't bother me, but if the price is right I'd rather be playing that in HD than FFXIII

Despite the Kinect integration, it does at least look like they have catered for those without it, which was my big worry after seeing this before. I just hope it's quicker than the NXE just to get around and looks a bit more 'HD', as everything seems to take up too much screen real estate at the moment
