" I think they just didn't understand how important the Bombcast is to people.
It's the exact opposite. They 100% realize how important it is. That is why they did it. So many more subscribers because of it. "
I think they knew that people liked at and would subscribe for it; I don't think they expected that getting half the podcast a week late would make some people respond as if they hat set their cat on fire. "
The problem is lots of those people complaining and upset about it are still paying for year subscriptions anyway. I personally know 2 people who are extremely upset but still paid $50. When it comes to a mostly free internet website, the few who pay outnumber the many that don't. I don't like it, but it is smart business none the less.
I guess since the thread has calmed down a bit I will voice my opinion.
If I was well off, I would give Giant Bomb $50 right now just to thank them for all the moments of pure awesome entertainment the guys have given me throughout the years not only at this site but also when they were at Gamespot. The Giant Bomb crew deserve only the best and I wish I could pay them whatever they wanted.
That said, I think the video that was posted was extremely bad not only on a insulting level but also in a lack of quality way too. It was in no way funny or entertaining. It was just kind of crappy and dumb.
I don't hate the splitting of the Bombcast, I "fear" the splitting of the Bombcast. I just don't like the idea of the Bombcast we know and love being changed in both structure and scope into something designed to directly create revenue. I worry the breaks will feel artificial and when you go into a recording session with the direct goal of making money, you are no longer having a casual chat, you are on the clock.
I love Giant Bomb, I have been with it since it started and also way before. I just don't want to see a good thing ruined. I care way too much about it to ever want to see that happen.
There is nothing wrong with the Whiskey Media company growing and expanding. It's always been part of their plan. No body starts a company with the goal of staying small forever. Don't worry about their integrity, it ain't going anywhere just because some game publishers and designers stop by to show off their games. That's perfectly normal for this type of website.
