Hope it gets another look after it comes out of Early Access, it's become my most played game of all time.

I feel like this game is never going to come out of Early Access and Rami is just going to compile new builds of it from airplanes and hotel rooms for the rest of his days.

So you're saying it's never coming to Vita, it's obvious home?

They won't have a sale, but they pretty freely give out copies. I don't know if that's admirable or experimental or what.

But they're building a pretty fantastic game, so as long as people see it they should go pretty far. And giving it out all the time is a good way to get that done.

What exactly is the marketing strategy behind Impromptu random code giveaways anyway? I know this is usually because someone's just trying to get rid of some codes lying around, but it feels so pointless to me. These are also digital downloads, so I don't really understand the need to liquidate.

Maybe a better idea would be to give these codes to @rorie and/or site admins and have him distribute the codes to those who have made amazing contributions to the site (fan artwork, community showcases, etc.) as a kind of reward?

Or is the whole point of these random code giveaways to just keep users "engaged" and monitoring/stocking the website at all times?

@icyeyes: The marketing strategy is "oh man, these have been sitting on my desk for like a year. I should post them up somewhere so I can toss these tiny cards and keep cleaning."

@jeff: Ha! Probably phrased that question completely wrong. Guess I meant the developer's marketing strategy for giving codes out to the press to give away. Since I'd imagine you get these kinds of things all the time and completely forget about them until you're cleaning a drawer or something. Also, what would happen if you just throw the codes in the trash? Do Steam codes ever expire?? Would anyone even notice or care??? Could you sell them on eBay???? ;)
