Bosconian is as good as Sonic Heroes is bad.

Video games change people, I tell ya.

@flippyandnod:

midigate -> mitigate

That and "accommodate" trip me up miserably. When I think about the number of words in English that still slip past my eyes, it makes Norwegian seem even more insane.

...playing Galaga on the Bosconian 4-way stick (the arcade Galaga stick is 2-way) is surprisingly disconcerting.

I would imagine so! Having any sort of step between "all the way left, holy shit" and "Jesus, move to the right!" in Galaga sounds like a bit of a nightmare.

Sutte Hakkun is actually the latest SFC/SNES game that works neatly on my SNES Mini. Metal Slader Glory and Thracia 776 both seem to have some issues. I'm therefore sorta treating it as the "last" SFC game on my device, though its strange history of ephemeral distribution modes does muddy that water a bit. Glad to see it mentioned here!

Sonic Heroes is one of those games from my youth that I always expect to enjoy but it always glitches out in some crazy way. But I must stress that there IS fun to be had, if you're lucky enough.

Given that the game will be in my life for 20 hours or more next month, I hope I can find and document all the fun therein. If the game is anything like SA1 and 2 I guess I can look forward to a lot of clipping and collision?

I think you might be in the running for having a worse time than ZombiePie and Pinguino's Final Fantasy XIII endurance hell.

I'm certainly worse off than those two, because FFXIII is a good game and they'll likely only play the good parts (i.e. until you get to Pulse and the game gets rid of all direction). I will hang my hat on this perspective.

I unironically think the Team Chaotix theme is fucking great... I love all the cheesy-as-hell Sonic tracks with vocals.

For the humble cost of one American dollar, YOU can make sure I experience these 32X castoffs first. I am also actively considering baking in some Sonic karaoke into this thing, up to and including playing bass alongside Crush 40 YouTube videos.

Elemental Master

Nothing to get excited about

Elemental Master has one of the greatest Mega Drive soundtracks of all time! Yeah it's not as mechanically engaging as TFIII or TFIV but that soundtrack really buoys the game several notches for me. Good list here though!

@zirilius: Hope deffo sucks, but let me tell you about Snow. That scene where Lightning just punches his stupid face is the best.

It weren't for my next NamCompendium piece (forthcoming, I swear!) but I still made the cut this week! I'm well aware that a lot of cross platform games get the short end of the stick on XBO but Burnout Paradise Remastered is a full fat 1080p/4k game depending on your model and there's more people playing it now than the 360 back compat version. Get in !

For those interested in hunting down those pesky challenges, there are ongoing threads for players on both PSN and XBL right now. Add some duders and jump over things with cars!

Thank you, thank you for more or less dissuading me from ever putting in the effort on this one. It's been sitting there in my backlog for years and I only recently got through FFX, so it seemed like a good idea. I've particularly been down to defend the nonsense tone of the game in the face of the self-serious nature of a lot of JRPGs. But it sounds like there's a lack of care put into the plot and characters overall, and the promise of the Dress Spheres never materializes and/or is sabotaged by having some clearly better classes. So, hard pass! Thanks for doing the work, looking forward to your playing a better FF game in April!
