This site has been one of the best things to happen to me in the last ten years. Thanks to the entire staff, the mods, and everybody lurking here.

Thanks again for the include. To be clear, my goal is to either chronicle every Namco title ever or die before completion. Made it through two calendar years of titles so far, only 24 more before the Bandai merger. I got this!

God bless and keep Pete, who is absolutely stellar in every single one of these deep dives.

@slag: I definitely picked that up in my "indie games are great and I shouldn't be stuck up about things like the game looking pants" phase. It sits like a stone in the bottom of my Steam backlog. Glad I might be stuck with it? I'll also shadow-count these votes as official brah.

I'm looking forward to getting into Namco's SNES years. My initial impression is that ToP is the only thing the company gave one shit about on the platform. They were whole hog into PCE early in the SNES's life span, with some Mega Drive flirtation on the side, and I get the impression that Sony had tapped them early on to be a big player for the PlayStation in 1994. If you look at the list of SFC games they published, about one in six of them are Famista.

@arbitrarywater: Yeah, I've fiddled with M&M I, II and III at this point and decided that those three are write-offs in my back catalog. Might have it in my for IV and V, which seem rad, and Ultima from IV onward is probably in play as well. But otherwise, yeah I think there's a similarly shared punitive design philosophy that underlies both sides of the RPG coin in this era.

Thanks for shouting me out! I'll hopefully be able to up the pace on the NamCompendium this year. Already chopping away at Pac-Man Pt. 2, which will be the most complicated tale woven in this project for a while.

@retrometal: Hey, thanks for reading it! Part 2 is definitely a thing that will happen, soon-ish, but honestly I'm looking forward to covering some less terribly important stuff again. King & Balloon and Tank Battalion are far less intimidating, with less convoluted history to research. Sounds wonderful.

Thank you for all the time you put into this one specifically. I only recently finished playing FFX to the end with my partner and barring the letdown that is Yu Yevon, I'm kinda with you and @zombiepie that the game is a real gem of an early PS2 title. Looking forward to your denouement of the NIS strategy game showdown!
