Giant Bomb is still a threat!
Wound up playing through FFX with my partner over the last...well, few years I guess. We've done it in dribs and drabs, and stopped along the way to poke at other games. I have been very surprised at how well it has held up, though I'll parrot your gripes about the shitty Zelda dungeon-like cloister trials. Free pro-tip: you want to finish all of these the first time through, destruction spheres and all. You will save a lot of time.
I almost envy you being in the position to put together these blogs. It's a great concept, and I think your working criteria for getting things pushed through to the final shelf are well considered. That said, my partner would actually murder me if I had as many PS2 clamshells kicking around as are in your collection. Even my Wii collection tops out in the twenties. I'll keep F5'ing over here to see how the rest of this series shakes out.
This has rapidly become my favorite piece of content on this site, if not the Internet. Looking forward to seeing how this whole thing plays out!
also if you don't put Katamari Damacy on the shelf without hesitation we will have problems
Absolutely the Borderlands games. Plans to play them with my college friends never really worked out, and every ounce of plot introduced into BL2 is dreck. I got maybe 80% through the latter and after struggling against a miserable boss fight clearly designed for multiple players to take down, I just uninstalled the thing and played some shorter game on hand. Much happier for it!
@almightyboob: Never thought of that, bummed that you might be right. I bought it at launch, and somebody offered me a complete Metroid Prime Trilogy for it at one point.
