NamCompendium: SFC/SNES Ranked

Prepare for a very strange list, folks. Namco did not pour a ton of resources into supporting the Super Nintendo. The console came into the world around the nadir of the company's relations with Nintendo, and by the time things had healed Namco was well on its way into the welcoming arms of Sony. Lots of sports titles, a fair number of outsourced games, but the cream at the top is quite good.

List items

  • Practically speaking, this is an arcade perfect conversion of Libble Rabble. If you can find a way to play this with two arcade sticks, it is perfect. As it is, the Super Smash TV controls utilized here get the job very well done. How much you actually enjoy Libble Rabble notwithstanding, this is fantastic stuff.

  • In my estimation this is the best home conversion of Ms. Pac-Man prior to Namco Musuem and/or digital distribution. It uses the same vertical scrolling solution found in other Tengen-lineage Ms. Pac-Man ports, but the sound is basically perfect and that has it edging out the NES and Genesis ports for me.
