So I'm thinking I'll pick this up for my Vita, but I don't really want to shell out an extra $50 for the PS3 version. Can anyone who has played it chime in on its value as a single player experience? I'm planning to play the archer.
@smcn: I'm sure he knew that wasn't true. People get really touchy about be asked to per-order things, so Gamestop employees end up having to lie to try to make the sale. I worked for Gamestop for years and never did it myself, but I listened to a coworker who had been with the store for 6 years get fired over the phone because his pre-order numbers weren't up to snuff. I'm not saying any of this is right, or defending Gamestop as a company, just trying to provide perspective (though you are right, that's a big one).
OT: When I was watching that RIPD quicklook and Jeff/Vinny were arguing that Oblivion hadn't come out yet. That was funny. Also I was recently at a game store and heard two kids (middle school aged) talking about how awesome it was that the Legend of Zelda was finally coming to Xbox.
If someone replies with "definitely interested" I'll add you to a list in the first post so that I know who you are and can shoot you a PM as release gets a little closer.
Same here. I was excited when it was announced, unimpressed with the first footage, but then got pumped when they put out the first person footage. It looks like TES now.
So I'm really excited about this game, I know, the stylish thing is to decry it, but I can't help it. Tamriel is my favorite video game world, and the idea of exploring it in an MMO context is pretty cool.
Anyway, what's the interest level like around here? I'm interested in putting a list of duders planning to play together so that we'll all have a home when the game launches.
I'm personally having a tough time reading all the posts without tearing up.. hell I'll probably stay away from those vids since I'll probably lose it. God I'm probably weird.
You're not weird, Ryan had a profound effect on a lot of duders' lives. My girlfriend came home to me sobbing at my desk, luckily she knows what Ryan and the rest of the crew mean to me.
I have to imagine that the guys are completely devastated. This all probably didn't feel real until today, so it would be understandable if they didn't want to post anything this week.
That said, I'd love a memorial show, though I almost wish they would do it... Outside of the office or something. I don't think I'll be able to watch any live shows on the set for a while.
As one of the many who doesn't post much, but watches every piece of content this site produces (more than once usually), thanks for this. It's helping to take a little bit of the sting off.
Also, big thank you to the mods for being cool about there being 10,000,000 threads about this. It meant something for me to feel OK posting a blog about all of this to the forums despite the fact that everyone else is.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again, deepest of deep condolences to the Bombsquad, Ryan's wife, and his family. He is, and will be loved and missed.
