It just seems like Dan just learned all the cheap tricks and dick moves in this game.

Lessons in all fighting games

He says right in the review he played on PS4.

As for "being fixed through a restart", that shouldn't be necessaryt for any reason. At least those other games you listed, besided Arkham Knight, work as advertized and don't get in the way. Brad's listing things that got in the way of him playing the game.

And even beyond the bugs, you can't patch shoddy writing.

Think the video is pretty harsh; any bugs I've encountered were readily fixed through a quick reload. The hyperbolic comments of 'buggiest game of all time' on the podcast or comments is kinda nuts; does nobody remember Arkham on PC or all the jank that came with every open world RPG before it? Roach on a house? No Mans Sky rendering? 20 fps on a 2017 console release of Zelda?

Seriously have run into maybe 3-4 bugs or weird animations in over 60 hours of ME:A on PC, so maybe a console issue, not sure. I guess AAA RPGs are just not popular or trending, going the way of the dodo RTS. I truly like crafting my own character, dialogue, and combat style; but critics hail linear 'here's-a-protagonist-kids-will-like' character focused games like Witcher 3 or Horizon Zero Dawn and consider them "Role Playing Games" when in reality they are action-adventure.

I used to think GiantBomb was pretty spot on with reviews; but Dan's latest 5/5 Zelda and Brad's 2/5 Mass Effect: Andromeda score have me honestly unsubscribing. I'll stick to the entertaining hijinks of the BeastCast to soothe the painful soul-sucking morning commute.

Guess I'm just getting old, to quote Meeseeks, "Your failures are your own, old man!" :(

Everyone would be better off not settling for middling games.

Hm. Okay, fifty minutes in the video, aside from visual issues I am not that turned off by it. Aside from visual issues, not everything looks good/great, but I think I can look past some (maybe a lot) of the issues. Also, I don't know how many people go to God is a Geek; it's the most recent site I've found and I've enjoyed hearing what they've had to say about games, and they seemed to enjoy this game alright.

I couldn't disagree more. I evoked a lot of Princess Mononoke and the thrill of clambering about my own hiking trails near my home, everywhere I went in the game. I could relax to the gentle piano playing as I let my horse hit the roads and I could watch the painterly skies go from day to night. It never felt like work, it took effort, but fun effort.

@jinoru: It's just so flat. There isn't much scenery to enjoy. The stuff I genuinely liked was the Zora stuff and that whole area is a straight-forward canyon. I'm liking the shrines a lot, however, the environmental puzzles and interacting with people is fun. But to get to those bits of real enjoyment I have to trudge through really lackluster things. Jim Sterling said it best that there's a really wonderful game that you have to work to get to.

Not everyone can enjoy the simple joys of riding a horse and enjoying all the scenery I suppose.

I wish I could be as enthusiastic about Zelda as Dan. What he's currently doing is just boring busywork to me. I'm with Jeff insomuch that getting around is too slow and I don't find the world all that compelling.

Huh. I am very shocked that so many people are praising a mini-game collection. I thought most people here hated that kind of thing. I would have thought this video would have the exact opposite effect it appears to be having, and would compel people away from the Switch.

Shows what I know.

So there's this series of games called Wario Ware.... They're amazing.

I would never spend any money on this, but it would have been a great pack in.

It being a pack-in would mean you pay for it.

Some of these games seem a lot better than others (the dice game for example). Definitely seems like the kind of game you'll only play once per group of people and after that it'll be done.

I can see this being done a load of functions with youth groups, young adult activities, etc. Having it take the place of "Minute to Win it" events.

Real fun.
