The Real Games of 2016

Not for honor, but for DemonicGoblin

He called me out for my other list including games from previous years so this is the restricted list.

List items

  • Flitting about the neon blue and red world, timing dashes perfectly and getting through encounters without a scratch or sometimes miraculously not dying is definitely my favorite new experience of the year.

  • It feels great to have a diverse cast of characters with diverse abilities coming from all my favorite first person action games of decades long past.

  • This is the second Civ game I've been able to finish a complete game. The other one was 4. The way I didn't have to have any extended warfare in the entirety of what I finished is a great highlight. The systems at play feel great. Lots of great strategic layers.

  • Better than DOOM? Yeah. What a rush.

  • Ripping and tearing feels great. The Berserk pick up against everything is amazing, especially when tearing imp's heads clean (or really dirty) in half.

  • Between TeeKO and Murder Trivia Party, this is the best party game I've played since Quiplash 1 and Fibbage.

  • The frustrations others have had with this game are not without merit, I've had the same experience, but I love every single bit of this game except the obtuseness of some of the controls.

Trico's intelligence shines over all its problems.

  • Its no TM2 Stadium crazy, but its local MP 'cheat code' modes are real fun. Valley will suck forever.

  • Chillest game, though all the people who have problems with it have no chill.

  • This would be higher, but I didn't play a ton of it.

I like me some deserts and sci-fi.
