And, hey, worse comes to worst, they've been fluoridating water since the fifties: at worst you'll end up average.

Yup. I've got the OCD/Anxiety/Mysophobia combo too, so I get where the worry comes from, but yeah: you're good dood. Keep enjoying your water.

Issues with the upload; the video cut off abruptly before the actual ending. Pretty sure it's in the process of being re-uploaded

I really wanted to have my mind changed on this game (REALLY, I'm not just saying that, I've wanted to fall in love with a Bungie game that isn't Myth for so long) but the atmosphere and the storytelling and the lore and just the general atmosphere of Destiny all strike me as so overwhelmingly DRY that it's really difficult for me to muster up any excitement to play it. Mechanically it looks rock solid, but sadly that's not enough for me nowadays, and I just haven't seen anything that would give me the momentum I need to push my way through the content & combat encounters they've clearly spent so much time and care crafting.

Hopefully reviews say that once you get past the first few areas the game opens up and the narrative picks up some steam, but I find myself doubting that more and more with each passing day. Luckily I'm in no hurry for a new shooter, so I'm happy to wait for reviews before making a choice. I just don't know that I'll be able to get over the kind of hollow feeling the game's leant by its MMO trappings/structure (which is the very thing that keeps me from engaging with MMOs too).

I dunno, I wasn't really all that hyped for it, but that now playing actually made it look pretty neat. I like the freedom of movement and the look of the combat flow a lot, and the whole nemesis thing looks like it'd be good for at least a BIT of fun. I'll still wait for reviews, and I'm still not particularly interested in their hollywoody interpretation of LOTR lore (it's not that I'm offended or anything, it just isn't the flavor of LOTR that I'm particularly into), but it looked like it could be good for some nice, light fun, which I could be into down the road at least, if not at launch.

I'm probably still more intested in AC: Unity though. I'm at least intrigued by the notion that they may actually have taken fans' opinions into account this time around and tightened up some of the issues that have been present for basically the entire series. I want to see if that's actually the case, or if they were just paying that stuff lip service in hopes of fooling people who've grown a bit weary of the series.

Well the "premium content" thing alerted me to the fact that the Bombcast is now premium. When did that happen?

Premium version's ad free. They've had it since they introduced the adverts. Otherwise the premium/non-premium versions are identical.

The Metro games are both fantastic and Metro Redux just came out. I haven't played Redux at all but Last Light and 2033 both looked (and still look) pretty incredible, both assets and art design wise, so I'd assume both the Redux versions do as well.

Not the best pure shooters on the market if you're looking to just shoot some dudes up (Wolfenstein is fantastic in that case), but if you're in for something more narrative driven I'd give those a shot. They're among my favorite FPS's of the last generation (although again, not talking mechanically here).

Also CS GO is the best fps out right now. Fight me.

While I generally am happy with the premium content that I get as a subscriber, I definitely agree that it would seem a far more enticing offer (at least to people who don't just buy subs to support the site, like myself) if there were some order and dependability to their premium content - beyond weekly UPF and "ehhhh a couple times a week?" MGS.

On the other hand, order has never been a GB strong suit, so I don't really know that I expect much change in that regard in the future (again, not that I much mind personally because hey, I love chaos). At the least it seems like they're doing pretty alright in picking up subscribers, so hopefully that means there's enough people out their with faith in them to support the model as it stands? I dunno, I don't have the numbers.

I'd love it, but I imagine dedicating the 2-3 hours to recording probably doesn't fit his schedule especially well

Man it must be weird reading endlessly thorough dissections of your personality by complete strangers; And I don't even mean that as a slight to people, it's more just weird to think about.

Either way, Dan seems like a cool dude. He gets along well with the rest of the crew on camera, and he's helped them produce some of the most consistently good content they have in a good while, so....I dunno, thumbs up from me!

You basically have echoed what I've been thinking for a while now, so I don't have much to add other than that I agree. It's kind of heartening to see CS continue to grow as someone who's played since 1.5ish and wants it to stick around. I can't wait for cologne in a few days.
