My new home

Well, here I am. My first blog on this new website I found. I have no friends on here yet, but I hope to rectify that soon. Not that I was a mafia Don on another site or anything. As much as I love scouring the web every day, very rarely do I take the time to post blogs, threads, or comments simply because my time is limited. But perhaps a more accurate reason is I don't like getting attatched. I got attatched to EGM, PSM (when they had the comic covers), Guitar for the Practicing musician, Guitar School...you get the idea. I hate seeing people lose their jobs but at the risk of sounding selfish I also hate not getting what I want which were magazines I looked forward to on a monthly basis.
It's strange. Lest I am misunderstood, I'm not just talking about magazines here. Sure, that's what it started as. But during the process of writing this I started thinking about other media, particularly TV. NBC recently cancelled "My Own Worst Enemy", after only four episodes. To their credit, they aired five additional episodes that were filmed rather than uncerimoniously dumping them. It hurt though that the series ended on a massive cliffhanger that will never see resolution. I don't understand why it's so hard for these companies to realize that things must be given a chance rather than chopped after just a couple of showings. Think of Star Trek:TNG. That wasn't a runaway success. It took almost three seasons to really find it's voice. But I also know this is a buisness. Case in point: Jericho. Granted, it's excellent entertainment. But this show was given it's second chance and it failed. Unlike Firefly, but that's a rant for another time.
Basically, I'm saying even though I've only been here for a month or so I really like it here. I've been a fan of Jeff since Gamespot and always wondered what became of him. I'm glad to see he's not only doing well, but he's got Ryan, Vinnie, and Brad with him. Hopefully, I won't have to look for a new home again.
