IT 2 first main trailer reveals the "goriest scene ever" in a blood-soaked Chapter Two bloodbath.

Last year Jessica Chastain revealed that the IT sequel will feature the "bloodiest scene" ever shown in a horror movie. Her character, the grown-up Beverly, is front and centre of the first full-length trailer. It shows an extended version of the scene which dropped earlier this year and then cuts to a terrifying montage of scenes. It is the first proper look at the adults of the Losers Club but there is no time for cosy nostalgia. Pennywise is back and the blood is flowing

Chastain described how horrific the scene was to film, let alone watch: "It's scary, man.

"I’m gonna say something and I think I’m gonna be in trouble but I’m gonna do it. It might be a spoiler, but in the movie there’s a scene that someone said on set that it’s the most blood that’s ever been in a horror film in a scene. I’ll tell you, the next day I was pulling blood out of my eyeballs. Like, fake blood!”

Well, it would be a bit of a worry if it was real blood.

IT2 also stars James McAvoy, Jay Ryan, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone and Andy Bean as the other adult members of The Losers Club.

Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Wyatt Oleff return from the first film as the younger Losers, most likely in flashbacks.

Bill Skarsgard is back at the menacing and child-munching Pennywise and once again the film is directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Gary Dauberman.

As fans of the original Stephen King source book already know, the main story is divided into two time periods.

The film picks up 27 years after the harrowing events of the first.

Although Pennywise had appeared defeated, the town histories already showed that he returns at regular intervals and it is time once more for red balloons to float over the unfortunate town of Derry.
