I don't mean Playstation vs Xbox or anything like that. I mean their electronics in general.

Growing up in high school during the 90s, and even in college for the beginning of the 2000s Sony was the premier, top of the line, best of the best when it came to fidelity and quality. Sony was what your rich uncle had exclusively in their entertainment center. When you looked at Best Buy ads that came in newspapers, or electronic store catalogues, it was always the Sony stuff that you'd look at.

So... what happened? I mean if I were looking for a brand new 4k HDR TV or sound system, I don't think that I'd even consider Sony. They still charge that premier price, but without the product to back it. There are so many options that are not only cheaper but even better. I ask because I read about their brand new flagship phone today, and it seems no better than any other random high spec'd smart phone, but they were still asking that premium price.

For those of you still die-hard Sony fans, what is it about Sony these days that keeps you still in their product line?

I'm not anti-Sony at all. To be honest, I don't really care what electronics company I buy from as long as it has a good price/quality balance. I'm just wondering what happened to the once top dog in the electronics market.

So two things:

1 - Glad that the guy got the 2 month investigation. We live in a time where people are guilty until proven innocent, and that’s not the way it should be. Too many places either fire or make someone leave just due to allegations. Everyone deserves to be innocent until proven otherwise.

2 - People need to quit looking at their place of employment as a dating pool. There are so many other outlets now to find someone to date. Dating, or trying to flirt with a coworker is just a bad idea. Keep it professional. Even if you hang out with people outside of work, be yourself while outside of work, and then be in professional mode while you’re at work.

@bybeach: so I kept hearing about this game, and finally installed it (its free). I totally thought that was the direction it was going, and I didn’t get what the heck the appeal was until I did. There’s no nudity or anything like that.

@doctordonkey: I’m with you. WoW blew my mind when it first came out. The world was alive with people, and unlike EQ, everything seamlessly loaded up. Watching people going about their lives below you while you flew on a flightpath and he vertical existence of the world while you were flying were both incredible things to experience back almost 15 years ago.

I actually really enjoyed FFXV. The idea of a group of friends going on one last road trip before their bud gets married is such an interesting and fun concept. It’s like a bachelor party with monsters.

Yeah the combat wasn’t really anything special, and the story was another JRPG mess of nonsense that makes no sense at all, but the setting was so good that I could forgive that.

The day they add a “skip gameplay” mode/button/option is probably the day I bow out of continuing to play new games, and just enjoy the games of my youth every once in a while.

OP, you’re wrong, but you’re entitled to your opinion. :P

@iamjohn: I just meant in general. The funny thing is that the neckbeard incels that complain about how “terrible women are” and how they’re “ruining geek culture” are the same ones that will go on and on about how amazing socialism is, and that communism has always failed because it’s not “true communism”. There’s nothing right leaning politically about them.

The terms nazi, racist, and alt right mean almost nothing anymore. People have destroyed any kind of meaning behind them because they are used now to describe anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

Ah yes, 2017... where anyone with an opinion different than yours is either alt-right, racist, or a nazi.
