Games Completed: 2010

This is the list of games I complete in 2010. It'll be interesting to see how many actually came out in 2010.

List items

  • Completed January 4. First game I beat this year. Really liked the game although it's very derivative and doesn't do anything new. Very solid JRPG.

  • Completed this January 4. Beat the drum career on medium. Had this game since the Christmas it came out but finally got into drums after playing tons of The Beatles: Rock Band.

  • Completed January 7. Beat this co-op with a friend. Bought the compilation disc that has both games for $10. Thought the game was alright but certainly not worth the $20 they are asking to download it.

  • Completed January 8. Played this for achievements and while getting them all was very tedious towards the end, I thought the last few missions were pretty bad ass. As a Giantbomb staffer might say, it had some open world jank.

  • Completed January 31. I suppose I'll add this. I didn't beat the single player mode but I did get all the achievements. This was momentous as this was the last chance to get the online achievements.

  • Completed February 2. Played this along with Rebel FM's Game Club. Thought this game didn't age very well and found it very frustrating.

  • Completed February 7. Love Suda 51's games and this is no exception. One of the best Wii games and so far, my favorite game of the year.

  • Completed February 9. Beat this co-op with a friend. Thought the first one was alright and I think I like this one a little more.

  • Completed February 10. Played this one for achievements although I had a weird interest in it since there aren't many snowmobile games. I actually really liked this game and thought it was great, considering it's a budget title. Quite short though.

  • Completed February 16. Started this directly after Ski-Doo and played it every day from then until now except for two; it took me roughly ten and a half hours. I liked the game at first, then found it a little tedious and then really liked it towards the end.

  • Completed March 18. Played through this with a pal in split-screen co-op. Started it one day and finished it the other. Now I finally need to pick it up to get more achievements. Been playing a lot of games between this and MadWorld, just haven't beat any.

  • Completed March 28. Been playing this awhile and about halfway through I realized I didn't much like the game but figured I'd go ahead and complete it. Took about 24 hours.

  • Completed April 4. First game to complete in April and my first PS3 game that I've completed. Beat the arcade mode, and really liked the game. Just different enough from Geometry Wars to warrant prolonged play, plus I'm number one on my friend's leaderboards!

  • "Completed" April 7. I'm adding this even though it's not truly a "game" but hey, it has trophies and that's good enough for me.

  • Completed April 14. I loved Free Radical growing up on TimeSplitters games but this was a disappointment. I was actually surprised that it wasn't terrible though, it was just decent.

  • Completed April 15. This is when I beat the Elite Four for the first time, of course there is more to do as Kanto is now available. Pokemon Gold is probably the Pokemon game I've had the most fun with, so I was looking forward to HeartGold, even if it was a remake.

  • Completed June 14. Wow! Has it really been two months since I've completed a game. In this time span I've played a ton of Picross DS and am close to beating that and fifty hours of Grandia but my PS3 has broke twice whilst playing that so that's been a huge delay. I've also spent more time not playing games as it's summer and I'm in a relationship. Regardless, I played XIII about a year after it came out and liked it then and recently got the urge to play through it... so I did.

  • Completed July 12. Still haven't gotten a new PS3 or remedy to finish Grandia but onwards! Played this when it originally came out and never finished it. Didn't like it as much as previous Zelda games but it's still a finely crafted game.

  • Completed August 1. Bought this game the week it came out and have pretty much played it ever since. Didn't try to hard to beat it, just a few puzzles everyday as I knew it would last a long time. Well worth it; now I'm moving onto the DLC puzzles.

  • Completed August 16. Really enjoyed this game, pretty much everything about it except changing tactics with the character change. Will now proceed to play it again on different difficulties and perfecting some levels, so maybe no new games for a while.

  • Completed September 3. After beating Picross 3D COMPLETELY, I decided to play this. My girlfriend is obsessed with Metroid and it has rekindled my love for the series. This game was very good as far as a pinball experience is concerned, or a game to play before bed or in spurts. As a Metroid game it's fairly poor, but whatever.

  • Completed October 4. Played through the majority of this when it came out, but never completed it. Finally decided to after beating MPP and still wanting a DS game to play. Super tough in the end simply because of the amount of grinding I did, at least a couple of hours. Besides that annoyance the game was fun, albeit very traditional and "old school", then again the game was made in 1990.

  • Completed November 17. This has pretty much been my focus since Final Fantasy III, although I dabbled with Puzzle Quest on XBLA and have been busy with school and work of course. I loved this game; as you know, I began Grandia earlier in the year but my PS3 crapped out, which I just sent in to Sony, but I won't get my Grandia save back so i'll probably never beat that, anyways, Grandia II I originally played back in high school and got within five hours of beating it and just quit, don't know why, this time I conquered it. The battle system is phenomenal, although I do live pseudo real-time/turn-based JPRGs, and the story was quite engrossing, if you can dig a JRPG story that is, people seem quite biased against them anymore.

  • Completed December 13. Played through this with a pal. I've had this a long time, since it came out on XBLA, but played through it today. Fun game, but gets old fast. Very cheap.

  • Completed November 22. Played through this with a friend in local co-op. We knocked out an act with each visit, and it took us awhile to get through it, but it was a blast. Very good game, now we're hitting up horde and I'll try some multiplayer out, and get some of the DLC.

  • Completed December 15. Been trekking through this on the hardest difficulty since completing Gears of War 2. This was probably the hardest game I've ever played, and it has turned me off on playing through other games on the hardest difficulty unless I'm going co-op. It was a terrible experience, but I did get all the achievements; playing the Xbox 360 version by the way, aka Call of Duty Classic.

  • Completed December 18. Played through a little of this a day after it came out; then completely beat it with a friend in co-op. Pretty neat little game, especially good considering it's free!

  • Completed December 20. Essentially beat this in one sitting with a pal. Was actually pretty decent. I enjoyed playing as a turret more than actually driving.

  • Completed December 31. Beat it at 11:45, the last game I completed this year, and you know what, probably the best. I LOVED this game and am so glad I finally experienced it, now onto Mass Effect 2!
