This really just seems like a non-issue. I think what is more important is to get an actor who can play that part well and with respect for the character they play, regardless of their gender. Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl comes to mind. Was anyone upset that Redmayne was playing that character even though he himself is not transgender?Just my two cents.
