Exceeds all previous Zelda games in presenting Hyrule as a real place that can be fully explored in ways only hinted at (and dreamt of) in OoT. Size and depth of world makes replays just as good as the first time through, sense of exploration almost never dims for hundreds of hours Good: * Everything Average: * Story almost non-existent although replaced with great environmental storytelling, best backstory and cinematics in Zelda series history
Almost perfect execution of story, dungeons, gameplay, puzzles, difficulty, exploration, progression, side quests. Overworld feels a little empty, even on release Good: * Everything Bad: * Showing it's age
Atmosphere/setting, gameplay, quests improved over OoT but shorter and dungeons/bosses aren't as good. Good: * Quests * Gameplay * Puzzles * Progression/pacing * Difficulty * Story Average: * Dungeons - tedious to play over and over, design suffered from 3 day time limit * Exploration - good but short
Way too easy in combat, puzzles, quests. A bit tedious in the beginning and generally all around pretty slow. Boring fetch quest at end, dungeons are average for series. Good: * Story - simple but well done * Gameplay - new combat, fun items Average: * Setting - would be good but boring sailing from place to place, small islands and small quantity * Dungeons - small quantity * Quests Bad: * Difficulty * Progression/pacing - boring as hell * Length
Very long and boring intro, story is too slow Good: * Dungeons - best and most numerous in the series * Gameplay - excellent number of enemies and items * Puzzles - lots of them and tuned just right, not too easy or frustrating Average: * Story - Midna is great, Twilight invasion is neat, but falls back on OoT rehash towards end * Quests - decent amount but nothing memorable * Difficulty - a little easy Bad: * Setting - OoT rehash with none of the benefits, lifeless world/side characters * Progression/pacing - terribly slow intro, story stretches too long * Exploration - nowhere interesting to find or go, empty field
