Heya duders. Here's the deal. Being an idiot I thought that PSN is unified for the whole Europe and so I purchased my Playstation Plus subscription from the UK Amazon assuming it would still work for me here, in Finland. Or rather, none of this even entered into my mind as a possible issue, when I ordered the thing.

So here I am. I have a scratched voucher with 365 day subscription code for PS+, worth 40 pounds, that I can't use. I contacted Sony customer support and tried to beg for some/any help - there's nothing they can do. I contacted Amazon and tried to seem sad and pathetic, hoping they'd be magnanimous enough to take the thing back despite the nature of the item and opened package - no luck.

So I turn to you. Or to you British duders in particular. Any of you want a years subscription for PS+ and were willing to, maybe, trade a game on Steam for it or etc.? I'd hate to lose those 40£, but if I can't find any takers, then I'll have to devise some kind of giveaway. But I thought I'd try recoup my losses first.

I don't understand why Sony can't do anything about it. Why don't they give you a correct code for your region, and invalidate the code you have so you can't resell it. Or just be a nice and decent company and just give it to you regardless because this kind of region locking is confusing and sucks.

EDIT: Situations like this are a chance for a company to foster real loyalty by doing something nice when maybe technically they don't have to

While some very good points have been made throughout this thread, one thing I haven't seen anyone mention is the high levels of scrutiny that come with making a character or set of characters anything other than what is considered "the norm". You can write a set of heterosexual parents as bumbling idiots, overbearing and overprotective nitwits, or even completely evil people out to ruin not only their childrens lives, but the lives of all children everywhere, and nobody will bat an eyelash.

You write a set of homosexual parents into the show, and suddenly you're making some sort of political commentary. Their every action and word will poured over and examined under a microscope. You make those two homosexual parents the same bumbling fools you made the hetero parents, and suddenly people are screaming for your blood because you obviously have to be saying all homosexual parents are like this. The wrong word, phrase, action, or gesture is made, and you've just offended a portion of your audience.

I'm not saying it's right, but if you're just trying to write up a 22 minute long episode of a kids show, it's just much easier to write parents up as hetero. Then you're free to do what you want with them, and nobody is going to be offended by their mere existence. The anti-gay crowd isn't suddenly going to force their kids to stop watching your show, and you don't have to worry about offending the other portion of your viewing audience.

Damnit, didn't think about that and sadly probably very true.

I am confused why a lot of people seem to think hat this discussion is about explicit sexual acts, even after tons of others have already explained that attraction and relationships is not at all about sex, and totally a thing that kids deal with from a very young age. As a father of 3, I also totally disagree about some here that think you shouldn't confuse kids any further by introducing the concept of men or women loving each other The fact alone that kids are confused about this kind of stuff means you -have- to talk about it with them, because they are going to be confronted with these things anyway. In this day and age your kids pick up a hell of a lot more than you think, so you better get involved as a parent. The clue of course is to do it in a way that fits the maturity/mental age of the kid.

On the subject of sexuality. Every parent knows that sexuality starts way before puberty. Young kids are touching their own genitals and realize that it feels good - and even get erections. What I came to understand from "experts", which makes sense to me, is that at a young age you just ignore it, the worst thing you can do is to give the kid the impression that it is bad/wrong/forbidden. At some age you do have to start talking about it -again in a way that fits the maturity of the kid- and puberty is definitely too late for that.

Debuting number one doesn't mean anything if the sales aren't good. I want the game to succeed just to shut up the morons, but it ain't looking good so far.

Yeah, I think they rather are number 4 in November than number 1 in January. Position is cool, but in the end it's about revenue. I hope the sales for this game pick up because of positive word of mouth, I have no beef with it.
