Hey guys. So one day, I was messing around the internet and found these dreadful comments about this game that I absolutely loved, Far Cry 2. Even in one of the forums here at GB, I found comments of people saying that they regret buying this game. When I played the game, I found it amazing, with the only exception of the gunplay, which was kind of messed up.

I would really like to know what you think of Far Cry 2, and how your experience with the game has been.

Also, I was wondering wether or not I should buy Splinter Cell: Conviction. Looking at trailers and everything, it looks awesome, but I would thank you a lot guys if you could tell me more about your experience and opinions about this game.

Cheers, jrodrz

The Happening by Shyamalan. I knew it would be bad, and I still went to the theater to watch it. By the end I just wanted to jump off a building or something.

Hey guys. Unfortunately, after two years of owning my xbox 360, the 3 RROD appeared. So, lately, I have been weighing the possibility of purchasing the new xbox 360. It looks AMAZING. Yet, I wanna make sure that my money will be well spent. My main curiosity is wether or not this new version comes susceptible to overheating and the 3 RROD, like the old xbox 360.

Basically, I would like to know how your experience with the new xbox has been. Has it been worth every cent? Does it run smoothly?
Is the old xbox hardrive compatible with the new xbox?

I would really apreciate your opinions people. If you could post your responses, I would be very grateful.

Cheers, jrodrz

  • Moments in Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 that scared the hell out of me.
  • Finishing The Darkness. I loved that story.
  • Played Assassin's Creed 2 15 hours almost straight the day I got it. NO KIDDING
  • Finished Tony Hawk's Underground twice in the same day.
  • Got "Don of NYC" rank in The Godfather: The Game
  • Playing F1 World Grand Prix and World Cup 98 (both for N64) with my dad when he was still alive. RIP Dad.

@Everyones_A_Critic: yeah man internet has helped me a lot when it comes to buying games. As you can see, it sucks that I have to wait for a game way after its release date, and paying 50% more for them. About my English: thanks man, I've been really trying to improve it lately. Haha no, English is not our first language; it's Spanish. I've been learning English since I was 6 years old, and I plan to go to the States to get my college degree. So I really appreciate your comment.

@cazamalos: I totally agree with you man, that's exactly what I said when I started the forum. You know, it just bothers me how difficult it is to get a game in some countries. Wether the taxes are too high, or the store on the country wants to rip you off, it's really annoying

@acecards: wow man...I knew there was a lot of trouble getting a game in Brazil, but I had no idea they were so damn expensive. That's another reason I created this forum. I also wanted to know what was the deal in other Latin American countries. I'm also thankful to all the people that have explained their difficult situation in getting games in a country that's not the US.

I'm jealous of American gamers. I really am (not in a bad way though). Why? you might ask. Well, because getting a game down here is so hard, it gets really frustrating.

You see, the problem down here is that, since video games are not made in Latin American countries, they take way too long to come here. Americans (and even in some European countries) can buy a game the same day it's released. In here it's a totally different case. Take for example my country. The few video game stores we have have to buy new games from retailers in the U.S. and then have them shipped over here. It's all a headache. It's so frustrating to know that AC 2 is coming out on Nov. 17 in the States, but it will take at least two more weeks to get here.

Another big issue is the price of games. You have no idea how overpriced games are here. All because (obviously), video game stores in here have to re-sell them after taxes and shipping and everything. Wanna know how overpriced they are?

Let's take for example Assassin's Creed 2. As any other normal new game, (I say normal because I'm excluding games like "Tony Hawk: Ride", which come with an extra feature that increases their price) it costs $60. In the States. In here, (after you convert dollars to my country's currency) each game costs....95 DOLLARS. In another Latin American Country in which I have been, each game costs....75 DOLLARS.

It bothers me when I read some of the forums here and most Americans complain about a game costing 60 bucks. Well, THANK GOD YOU ONLY HAVE TO PAY 60 BUCKS!

Since last year, I've been oredering my games from the States so they can be shipped here. It doesn't take as long to get here as if I waited for the games to get to stores in here. I ordered Assassin's Creed 2 the day before it was released, and it's getting here on Friday. And I only have to pay the cost of the game ($60) plus shipping taxes. I'm saving $30 and I don't have to wait too much time.

Now that you understand my situation, you're welcome to give your opinion. Of course, any comments insulting countries or problematic comments will be deleted, since I'm not trying to cause trouble, I'm just giving my opinion and informing you about this problem.

See ya
