Top 20 GameCube

Top 10 with my favorite games for GameCube. You know, the GameCube, that purple square thingy you probably under-rate.

List items

  • What? I expected a good game, but this? Probably the best racing game ever, and that's saying much, I have a huge interest on racing games. I've spend hundreds of hours into this game unraveling the marvelous possibilities within its meta-game. There's not much else to say except this is one of the most sublime experiences the GameCube can proportionate.

  • Immersive and atmospheric, not my personal best of GameCube, but definitely the best game in the system putting my personal taste aside. This game should be framed and hung in a wall, it's a work of art, anyone eager to dig deep into it will find this game has a soul, and it shines.

  • First game I ever bought, mainly because the store didn't have neither Luigi's Mansion nor Wave Race: Blue Storm, what at the time seemed like a drawback on the moment of my GameCube purchase, now seems like God descending from heaven and taking away those games so I could play this masterpiece. I wasn't big on Smash Bros at the time, maybe I wouldn't even had played it by now, dark thoughts indeed.

  • At first I thought I wouldn't need it, after all, why would I need a simple remake when in just a brief period of time I would be playing Resident Evil 0 and 4. I was wrong, both because Resident Evil 0 and 4 took way longer to be ready, and because I read so much about it that I got obsessed and had to buy. I'm glad I did. This is a lot more than just a remake, this is the be-all end-all of remakes.

  • I'm guilty, I one of those guys that want Resident Evil to go back to what it used to be, but there's no denying that this game is amazing. I bought it day 1 and so far I have finished it over than 20 times. Can't help but like it.

  • I remember when this game came out, did nothing on me. I remember the guy I knew at a store trying to sell it to me, but at that time I wouldn't go around buying anything someone recommended. Also, I had never even heard about that game up until that moment. Some time later I saw in a magazine a walk-through along with an article about it, and my interest grew. I rented and finished it, it was an awesome experience. In recent years I finally got myself a copy of this game, great stuff.

  • Maybe I was one of the few who didn't go overboard and started hurling accusations at Nintendo as how they destroyed my beloved series and all that crap, I neither loved nor hated Zelda when Wind Waker was announced, I simply waited, and was compensated with a hell of an experience.

  • I waited long for this instant classic, unfortunately it was the last time Resident Evil brought us that experience we all learned to love and respect. This is survival horror at its best.

  • After hearing a big fuzz about how this game was good I decided to give it a try, and it didn't disappoint me at all. Best RPG for the GameCube and one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

  • Much better than Sunshine. Short but sweet, certainly something Nintendo shouldn't simply forget and never release a sequel. I still have hopes for a Luigi's Mansion 2.
