You know, the real problem that video games have compared to other forms of media is the relatively high investment of time and money it takes. Movies cost 10 bucks for a ticket and are 2 hours long, but games can be as expensive as 60 bucks and some can take as long as 50 hours to complete. Some will take even more. Which means that if you're trying to decide on GOTY by the time the next year starts, it's almost impossible to have played a large amount of the games worthy of consideration.

To me that fact kind of lowers the value and credibility of these types of lists. Not that I think it was a bad idea or anything, I mean I participated myself, but when I see how this list ended up I can't help but think things would have been very different if there was a significant difference in terms of what games people actually played in the first place.

Oh well, no big deal.

The Mako was flawed in execution but I thought there was potential with the idea. I was disappointed that Bioware decided to abandon it rather than fix it. I liked how it gave the game a sense of bigness and scale and made it feel like I was actually exploring the galaxy. Scanning for minerals in ME2 was a poor replacement- it was just boring.

I just don't understand the love for ME2. After the hype I was really underwhelmed. Didn't even put it on my list. I liked the first a bit better. Oh well.

Also, considering the love for Persona this site seems to have, I'm disappointed that Atlus's other games got ignored. Etrian Odyssey 3 and SMT: Strange Journey are both excellent, but they didn't even make the list.  I mean, I love Persona too, but come on, the other two games warranted more attention than the third release of P3 since 2007.

Study, and if you have lots of stuff you need to get done, don't wait until the last moment.

Go to class, pay attention, and take good notes.

Get plenty of sleep and try to establish at least a semi-regular sleeping habits. It might be difficult depending on your schedule, but do your best with that. Irregular sleeping habits is actually a very common source of stress among college students.

Watch out for nightmares in which you go to class only to find out that your class project that is worth a huge chunk of your grade is due at that very moment, when you thought you still had another week.

I can accept the first policy, but the second one is bullshit.

The two were pretty weak outside of the motion control stuff. Neither of them showed us anything we weren't expecting.

I wouldn't have liked either of them regardless of what motion control stuff was there.
