Solved thanks to CitizenCoffeeCake. It's Spaera! (Although I can't figure out how to link the UPF to the game page...)

After the Encyclopedia Bombastica, the GB crew played a clone of Tetris Battle Gaiden that Brad didn't like as much (powerups weren't as consistent between heroes). I think they played it on Unprofessional Fridays. I believe it's a free PC download.

Does anyone remember? I always have trouble finding Unprofessional Fridays videos I'm looking for and I don't even know the game to search for this time.

As happy as I am that fans of Mega Man Legends will finally get a follow up, there are elements of this announcement that sit unwell with me. Comcept launched this campaign with a set of promises and goals, and backers paid their money to support those goals. Now that money is being shifted to support "more content."

If I backed the kickstarter and then went on an internet blackout until this game was released, wouldn't I still be getting what I put my money up for? They're still going to meet all of the promises of the base level kickstart campaign, right? I'd assume that's why it looks like they only lost net 22 backers ($2k!): http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/mightyno9/red-ash-the-indelible-legend/#chart-daily

But it is really weird to have a kickstarter that's entirely stretch goals without saying what those goals are for. Why would anyone back it now? (Unless they expect $25 is a discounted price?)

Is there a way to see only Giantbomb-created videos in the video list?

I'm not interested in watching trailers, but the filters are all very specific (Quick Looks, MGS, Unfinished, ...). There's "Popular" and "Latest" which aren't filters for specific types of content, so it'd be great to have a similar meta filter for "Staff" or "Giantbomb" that included everything but trailers (so it'd include subscriber-only content too).

I'd be fine with it being a subscriber-only feature if those trailers are considered a form of advertising.

Or is there an RSS feed where I could find the same kinda list?

Sometimes I'm having lunch, I've seen all the recent Quick Looks, I want to find something kinda recent, and I have to look through a huge list of trailers or pick each filter to see what's new (many haven't been updated in years). I'm fine with all the old content, but I want a big firehose of GB staff to drink from please!

So the player is saying they should be able to mod their game to break it and the developer saying not to break the game because that will make it less fun? In this case, neither has control over what the other person is doing so it doesn't really matter.

If I see you eating oranges by putting the peel in your mouth and discarding the juicy inside, I'll tell you that it's better to eat the juicy part, but you are free to ignore me. People eat mandarin orange peels as a snack (chenpi).

So I guess do what you want, but consider the developer of a game a good source of advice on how to enjoy it?

The argument has more meaning when phrased about what's actually in the game:

Player: "It's MY game. I bought it so it should have cheats, saves, and toggleable permadeath!"

Developer: "It's MY game. The game was designed this way. We won't include features that we don't think improve the experience. You won't like the game if you skip past all the content."

@pimpsandwich: Which confused the heck out of me because I thought it was Starbreeze and figured they picked up some sequel work, but then found a quote from a Starbreeze bigwig about how focusing on their own IP was successful. In the end it all makes sense: Overkill is owned by Starbreeze.

Weird.

Honestly, they can take as long as they want so long as they keep delivering documentary episodes.

Like the Academy Awards it has a generic name so we need to give the physical award itself a fun colloquial name. How about the Keighster?

I don't see anyway to download the Ask Leah podcast without using iTunes, but the "stream m3u" file contains a direct link to the mp3. What a weird setup -- there isn't even text on the download link.

@theht: Sounds like the show had a real-world representation of what the gameplay is like (in the same way volleyball is a real-world representation of Beach Spikers). I think Activision did something similar for a Call of Duty event with paintball.

If you can't attract people with your gameplay (especially if the game is already out), then it's a great idea for attracting more people so you can market other stuff to them (or just fan service).
