Thanks for the amazing and heartfelt write up Alex. I am a teary mess now.
Some people don't understand taking the loss of a pet so hard but as someone who also lost a cat this year I'll say this: Pets are family. Our cat (one of 4) was not in the best health but started on a rapid decline towards the middle of the year. The mood around our house sombre at best. We felt it, our 2yr old son could sense it and our other cats could just tell there was something wrong. I wont go into details obviously but pets are such a vital part of our lives and our routines that pets really are family.
Now I must go and hug everyone in our home (pets included).
I saw Vinny play this and now I have spent a week playing Satisfactory on the PC I built for Christmas. Thank you Vinny for the gift that keeps on giving, Coal power.
I had a similar experience with game play, after the release of TLoU2 I decided it was time to go back and see what all the hubbub was about. I made it about halfway through the game (just as Autumn starts I think) and watched the rest as a cinematic experience on youtube. I wish I had just watched the whole thing. I bounced off it pretty hard when it first came out but I've become far more patient with games over the last few years and decided to try a few titles again. I was once told "you don't play Naughty Dog games for the game play" and I have to totally agree after playing this (No idea how Uncharted got a sequel either).
As for the story: I was kind of disappointed that Joel didn't just die, I get why things went the way they did but it wasn't for me I guess.
@hellscream Thanks! We are fairly busy too and streaming has helped us to find the time to play games together. You can find us at Tired Parents on Twitch. We are Australian so streaming times may depend on where you are. Hope to see you there!
My wife and I have been playing and streaming all of the canonical Resident Evil games in order over the last year or so and I've been compiling a list myself actually. We just finished Resident Evil: Revelations 2 last week and are moving onto RE6 this week or next. All a matter of opinion but here is my list so far in how much enjoyment we had with each title:
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Resident Evil 4
RE3 Nemesis (re-release)
Resident Evil (re-release)
RE: The Darkside Chronicles
RE: Survivor
Resident Evil 0
RE: Revelations 2
RE: Dead Aim
RE: Revelations
Resident Evil 5
RE: CODE: Veronica
RE: Outbreak
We still have to play RE6, 7 and I guess now 8 (Village).
