I love it, tons of people complaining that the videos are all getting to long form, they listen and edit them down and now its a problem, you really cannot win.

But more importantly, WHOO FINALLY I am so glad this feature is here.

Different people want different things!

People want shorter videos? Really? If they want that there's a ton of it on Youtube. They can go watch Seananners or something.

The atmosphere of this game reminds me of Winnie the Pooh's Grand Adventure.

The anti-aliasing in this game is killing me. Reminds me of Twilight Princess-like graphics.

@themasterds: He's pretty close to finishing Chapter one, another three or four episodes at most I bet. But who knows how long it'll take him to complete chapter 2. From person to person people have had more or less difficulty procing the story to progress; since the philosophy of chapter two is "just do anything, and a cutscene will happen, maybe".

Also mission 45 is going to be the Cyborg Ninja moment of this game for him, unless he starts investing in some weapon development soon.

@ildon: You lose a few guys, depending on how long it takes you to get through a few of the next story missions.

@scrawnto: Yeah, they don't tutorialize you on all of the basics of the iDroid, unless you examine the prompts at the bottom of the screen that say what you can do. I knew you could select multiple people from the start because the staff assignment stuff is very similar to Peace Walker.

@mikachops I can see this becoming a 30 episode series. It depends how fast Drew is able to get to the ending of Chapter 2.

@koolaid But they also explicitly ask you to quarantine anyone you suspect as being infected.

@bbalpert Actually, given the complaints you and others have given about FOB, it's in practice that FOB sucks. Conceptually, before the game came out, a lot of people were really impressed at the FOB demo, and excited about it.

But the actual way it was put into practice, with MB coins and all that, ruins the possibility of what it was conceptually.

@ravelle It's not just that particular tank. It is that particular kind of tank, however. What most people don't realize is that there are actually three different grades of armored vehicles, tanks, and helicopters. The weakest one's are a light colour, the strongest ones are red. The red ones take a considerably large amount of damage to take out. And red tanks appear, not just in that mission, but also in some of the later side-ops. They kill you in one shot in the side ops as well.

@ppompnmn: He totally circumvents the idea of carefully scoping out a base to any degree before charging in. With D-dog, you don't need to send anyone to scout either. Just head on in and you will know where everybody is. And once you've taken everyone out, he then marks every vehicle and weapon emplacement in the area.

You can also equip him with the ability to fulton dudes on your command later on, and the guards don't care about the dog.

I feel stupid for examining all the soldiers who were infected at the time, and not seeing what it was that they all had in common. I lost about 100-200 people.

Edit: "They all speak Kikongo." Okay Drew, I take back anything negative I ever said about your play-style. You're the best Metal Gear player ever.

My dad's mother was from the Ukraine, and his dad was from Russia. So I've been exposed to some Russian culture in my youth. So I'd pick Russian as a language I would learn, aside from French which is Canada's second language.

Drew got kind of lucky. All the people he was looking at had English in common too, but he didn't notice it. In fact it was the same for me, and I thought English was the key due to the doctors' info about the Devil's House (of course, it becomes important later).

All that said, the UI for managing staff in this game sucks (which is profoundly bad given that the main thing you're actually doing in this game is procuring staff). It was way easier to just quarantine everybody (on PC at least, I could hold down the "mark" button and just scroll through the "all staff" list to select everyone very quickly) than to go through hundreds of guys and looking at conditions.

So I just did that immediately and then once I had a theory about what the issue was, it turned out I didn't really feel like unquarantining people selectively and just left it at that.

I actually disagree that the UI is bad, I think it's pretty well done actually. It's just for this particular case that you can't just sort by language, but I think that was left out on purpose. I think Kojima probably wanted people to search through their entire list of employees.

But I also think it would just be faster to play through the main missions as fast as possible any ways, as the cure presents itself not long after.

@sparkletone I actually really like that they tied the staff management into the story a bit here. It's a great idea.
