I think MGSV's title screen works well if you're already in the helicopter; so when you press start or whatever, it just transitions smoothly and directly into the game. Also the start screen you see at the beginning of the game above the ceiling fan in the hospital is pretty good.

Final Fantasy XI's start screen is also good, despite all the add-on's and expansions be listed; although for utility's sake, it's good that it show you explicitly which ones you have. It also allows you to choose what music you want to play, which is a nice feature.

Oh and no one (rightfully) gives a fuck about Red Dead Revolver. Not a bad game, but was kind of just another PS2 game in the grand scheme of things.

Also this; I didn't know Revolver existed and that Redemption was somehow related to it until I looked it up. I'm pretty sure the average person who liked Redemption doesn't care or know about Revolver, so it makes sense to call this "2" if they're going to call it Redemption.

@artisanbreads: I think I'll actually wait this one out. Back when GTAV came out I had a PS3 and no gaming PC, so it made sense to get it then. And by the time GTAV came out on PC, I had a gaming PC; so I was okay with buying it again. But now my only gaming platform is PC. I loved Red Dead Redemption, but I'm not about to drop down money to buy a console unless Death Stranding comes out with a large gap between its console and PC release.

Aren't most major publishers releasing their games on PC same date as consoles these days? Seriously Rockstar.

Obviously they're going to release it eventually on PC; this isn't 2010 anymore, they can't just get away with making a major 3rd party game like this a console exclusive.

@wheresderrick But it's the second "Redemption" game in the series. So it's Red Dead Redemption 2. If they used the word Revolver instead, it would be Red Dead Revolver 2. The only way there would be a 3 anywhere in the name is if they called it Red Dead 3: Re_______. Metal Gear Solid 2 is the fourth game in its series, but it's only the second "Solid" title; hence, 2.

If they just made a proper sequel to Sleeping Dogs, they probably would still be here. Although I can't say Triad Wars was their decision, probably SE's.

I'm rolling a new character and restarting for the upcoming DLC.

Does anyone know if they ever "fixed" this? I know that From came out in May and claimed that poise was working as intended but that's clearly bullshit because of the number of items that reference poise.

I looked at the Steam community forums a couple of weeks ago and people were still complaining about it/defending it. So no?

Wow @ the 70 million budget, i want to say it may have been the most expensive game at the time lol.

"When you get right down to it, waiting for appointments, running errands, and circulating back and forth between towns is one of the most tedious things about human life. Ryo's father is dead, and as the person in charge of finding the killer, you also assume the restrictions of his life. Ryo wakes up at 8:30am and must be in bed by 11:30pm. This gives you 15 hours per game day to talk to people, hunt down clues, and make progress. However, some people only appear at certain times of the day, while others require that you make appointments to see them. Since each hour within the game takes roughly five minutes to pass, it's not uncommon to find yourself with 30 minutes to waste. The minigames and martial arts training elements help, but after three discs, these things become boring as well. By the time you're driving forklifts and participating in the game's QTE-filled conclusion, hours upon hours of boredom will have taken their toll. Exacerbating the situation, disc one is mostly exposition and disc two mostly gallivanting about, while disc three contains the brunt of the game's true gameplay elements."

That last sentence summarizes well what I thought the experience of each disc must be like after watching the ER. I was coming around to the game more by disc 3 when Vinny was forced by a schedule to actually do something each day; and by that point it seemed like a least one interesting story beat was happening every in-game day.

They're going to announce the Red Dead theme for GTA Online. Horse decals for your cars. Cowboy themed clothing. Content focusing on the desert area.

Do the newer Call of Duties have any meaningful through-line in terms of story? I liked how MW1 through 3 had a story that you could generally follow, and returning characters. Is Infinity Ward following up at all on the story of Ghosts?

@daveyo520: I loved Clannad the first time I saw it when I was a teenager. But somehow I don't think it would hold-up for me today.
