Does anyone know what happens if you run completely out of gold, have a 20k repair bill, and nothing in the bank to sell and no other way to fund repairs?

You have to make a new character, earn 20k of gold, then you can go back to the old character, repair, and take them back to an earlier act or back to Hell difficulty to rebuild some savings.

I am a shit Diablo III player, and i am ok with that, i think the game is fun.

on my way to a boss this particular night i maybe earned lets say 10k gold. failing at the boss cost me around 60k.

this means i need to stop my active progression playing, the fun part, and spend time farming. not so much fun especially when its forced on you.

now am i saying Blizzard needs to make the game easier so everyone can progress on inferno?

nope, I'm saying if i come to a boss and i can't kill him, its all on me. BUT don't make me spend hours doing un fun stuff like grinding in order to keep trying.

can I use the real money auction house to buy gold and prevent grinding? probably. but that essentially turns Diablo into an MMO like subscription, not what i was wanting.

Dude, the game's over already for you. The whole point from here on out is to spending time making the numbers go up on your equipment by putting in either hundreds of hours, or some real money into Blizzard's RMAH (Why do you think they increased the repair costs? They don't want to you to just finish Inferno). If the loot treadmill isn't fun, it's probably best to just get off.

This looks fantastic.

That antfarm looks great, but I really hope that they can keep base invasions in the game even with the antfarm layout. It's a very different atmosphere when you're the one under attack, your guys are spread out and under/unequipped, and all collateral damage comes out of your pocket. Really raises the stakes. My favorite battle was when a battleship raided my base while my strike team was away, and all I had were the naked green rooks that I staffed my bases with so that my strike team could keep getting their promotions. Lots of unarmored rooks scrambling around trying to fight off the aliens with whatever conventional firearms were left on site.

I really like what they did with that glamcam. I'm sure they'll have options to adjust how heavily it gets used for players who get tired of it. Kind of looks like how I imagined X-Com battles in my head.

I'm ok with the addition of cover. I think a lot of people used cover in X-Com anyway since they could block sightlines even if it didn't reduce chance-to-hit.

Sad for the guys that are losing their jobs, but the writing has been on the wall for awhile now. id Software hasn't been putting out good games for a long long time now, they just can't do it. There are obviously some superstars on the payroll given the bright spots in those otherwise lackluster games, but given the poor overall quality the company did need shaking up. Maybe it'll come out better than before. Hopefully the guys let go will find jobs elsewhere.

I never got into tribes and didn't understand what it was all about. That said, I had a BLAST last night with this game. Really damned cool gameplay. I don't know how it compares, all I know is that I'm glad it's not another goddamn military shooter.

Karl is my fav, with Captain Spark and Veteran running at close second.

Karl is uncomplicated straight up shooting, lots of simple and powerful damage options that can burst damage to kill players and provide a nice steady stream to push lanes. His abilities couldn't be simpler to use either. Spark is a great offensive/defense stun attack, Victor(?) is a great fire-and-forget damage addition, and while Prop blast hasn't really been key for me, it's better than nothing.

Captain Spark has the most powerful mobility ability, teleporting through walls and ceilings/floors means you never really have to worry about getting killed since you can cut off all threats with a press of a button. Easiest assassin class for sure.

Veteran has a great feeling of power. Easy chain grappling, especially with the KaKlaw, means you can take an enemy player from safety to seriously #@^$ed on a moment's notice.

I think I'll unlock Support next, He seems to have just ridiculous firepower for lane pushing.

Gunslinger was my least favorite, decent against bots, crap against players. I'm a good shot, but if I play her at long-range where she's supposed to be, an enemy just needs to back around the corner to heal and they get off scot-free, and shooting bots at long range means no coins so I'm underleveled. At closer ranges she has a useful slow ability, and rapid-fire shots, but it still doesn't compare well to show-stopping debuffs of other pros which can blind, paralyze, or even pull enemies closer; slowing them down is trivial in comparison. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, haven't seen anybody doing it right, maybe if I see someone using the pro well I'll reevaluate.
