Thor Love and Thunder: 6.5/7 out of 10. A fun time but def like 3 movies smushed together. Christian Bale is cooking as Gorr and was the best part of the movie.

Creed (2015) is an incredible movie about legacy, family, anger and acceptance. It has a pace to it and is just so engaging. I liked the Rocky movies as a kid but Creed makes that world and characters feel real. Coogler's best movie.

I enjoyed it enough for the first idk 80% then that last 20-30 minutes affected in me in ways I didn't really expect. Ke Huy Quan was incredible in that final stretch.

The First Law series by Joe Abercrombie is by far, for me, the best modern fantasy series out. It's a grim dark series (although not as grim as I thought going in). I think what sells me on First Law is its prose and characters. No author squeezes more style and substance with every sentence. His characters are so defined, it's really incredible how unique each person is and how clear each voice is. I can not recommend this series enough. I find myself wishing other authors had the sort of joy and confidence Abercrombie has with writing about bad people doing horrible things. And while First Law vs. other modern fantasy series is up for debate, I kind of won't hear anything can beat First Law audiobooks. Whether you usually listen to books or not.....the job the narrator for all 9 books does is truly commendable. Just like the written word is so defined with each character, this man is bringing to life dozens and dozens of characters with unique voices. First Law is a darling in the "book-tube" community (and for good reason), I recommend checking any the videos linked and see if it's for you

I have an extremely weird combo with Lupe Fiasco's Food and Liquor 2 & Borderlands 2. I was going through the game with a buddy who could only play at nights, so I would just listen to FAL2 on loop as I grinded on the "kill 5/10/50/100 of x monster" on my own time. The album had just came out when Borderlands 2 was released and while not a great Lupe album it was WAY better than the big let down of Lasers two years earlier. I can not hear Strange Fruition without having flashbacks to post college what am I going to do with my life, living in a shit apartment and just logging dozens of hours into Borderlands 2.

Since the pandemic I REALLY leaned into my hobbies. It's been a lot of learning spanish, reading (sff books/comics) weightlifting, basketball (playing/watching) and learning to play piano.
