The Best of the Virtual Console

So you got a Nintendo Wii system and you want to play some classics? These are the MUST BUY titles of the Virtual Console.

List items

  • An awesome game with a fantastic soundtrack and great gameplay to boot as well. The game is extremely colorful and it supports multiplayer as well!

  • The best Legend of Zelda title of all time (yes, even better than Ocarina of Time). This game can keep pulling you back in even after completely beating the game.

  • Mario's first RPG outing. This game was only available on the SNES until it was released for download for the Virtual Console. Developed by the kings of RPGs, Square Enix, a fantastic game with a huge amount of hidden stuff and fantastic combat system.

  • A fantastic take on using such an interesting and intriguing idea of using the "paper thin" abilities of Mario. A simple, but very intuitive combat system that can rope anyone into playing.

  • If somehow you've never played one of the greatest platformers ever made, go and buy this now.

  • Want to play Shigeru Miyamoto's favorite Mario game (as well as mine)? Well, here it is! Colorful graphics, solid controls, challenging levels, and tons of hidden paths and levels, this game was an amazing pack-in game with the SNES system. Everything about this game just screams "SUPER".

  • Has great platforming and a huge choice of levels available. Some of the later levels in the game are very difficult for the casual gamer, but it has the mentality of "just one more try!".

  • Easily the best Metroid title ever made. Fantastic gameplay, a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack that stays with you, and solid controls are just some of the factors that make this game great.

  • A true classic. Solid controls and an absolutely AWESOME soundtrack.

  • How do you make an awesome game even better? Easy, add hidden levels, an even more awesome soundtrack, and even harder difficulty.

  • Unless you own a Nintendo 64 and a copy of this game, there's nowhere else you would be able to play this game... and that's a damn shame as it's a fantastic RPG on a console that didn't really have that much to choose from in the genre.

  • Unless you're going to import a cartridge from Japan, this is the easiest and most accessible way to play the first Sin & Punishment game.
