Seriously underrated, nearly-forgotten Wii launch title. The controls work well for what is required, and the item collection + domestic destruction gameplay is curiously addictive. Just one more level, just 10 more minutes tearing apart the living room!
I know the accolades slowly piled up over the years, but this game has it all - engrossing story, incredible visuals, and engaging combat. A part of me feels like I've insulted Amaterasu and done the game wrong by not finishing it.
A novel take on JRPGs which is just as enjoyable in 15-minute bursts as three-hour sessions. Not many games can claim that. Engrossing story hits all the right emotional notes.
Digital crack personified.
