I want to start by saying that I'm an extremely feminin' individual and have absolutely no problem with expressing emotions, but to echo quite a few people, Samus did have some character before Other M and I think that they could have easily expressed her emotions and used dialogue while still holding onto that character.

You keep jumping straight to conclusions about why people don't like things making the assumption that they didn't like it "Because Samus wasn't being badass and cold". Please, at least address the people who are simply saying that it could've been handled different.

If they wanted to make this character under a different IP I would've been fine with it, but it really destroyed a lot of who Samus was. I never viewed her as cold (she let the last metroid live for god sakes, she has a heart and that was an emotional part of that metroid game!)

To compare with music.

I enjoy some amazing genre bleeding revolutionary music

but sometimes I also want to simply listen to straight surf rock, and there are bands out there who still play three piece surf rock damn well, and are quite popular for it.

There's still room for the more traditional RPG in this market (even if I might personally not be that interested).

I'm not for this whole always online DRM thing usually, but why isn't everyone up in arms about something like Starcraft2? I love that game and play it constantly, but there wasn't this type of uproar about it. I really can't quite figure out what Blizzard does to make everyone not care and then Ubisoft does something similar (that's easy to hack around) and everyone is pissed off so bad.

I know they lied, but I'm saying with many of their games.

@Doctorchimp: I wasn't mad, maybe "offended" was too harsh a word? . I don't actually have HBO and don't intend on watching it. I was just talking about a personal case.

As a matter of fact, at the clubs we go to most people go by a different alias (lots of DJs and such). So it's normal for no one to know your real name.

@Doctorchimp: I was talking about their reactions on the Happy Hour, I haven't seen the documentary and am talking from first hand experience with the group I've hung out with down here.
