To each their own, I guess. But I found that once I got a decent PC and had everything running at 60+, I found it nigh on impossible to go back. Especially for Saints Row 3 & 4, those games look like complete trash to me on those old consoles now.
This year, so far at least, has been one of the most disappointing years in gaming for quite some time... people have been clamouring for an awesome game, and have been presented with one. I'm not surprised that it's getting a little more attention than it probably should.
Having played it for 20 hours, I do love it. But apart from the nemesis system, it does feel very derivative of other games in the genre.
If I had an Oculus Rift I would definitely get this game but I'm not insane so I don't and I won't.
The Oculus Rift mode is not in the game. It was a tech demo. They said at EGX that there's a lot more work that needs to be done on it before they'd be happy to release it to the public.
I have a more than capable PC, but due to points I have saved up from my rental store, I'm able to get the game on PS4 for £19... So even cheaper than the PC version. Simple decision! Plus I really need something to play on my PS4.
Sony shoved this in an enclosed booth with Bloodborne & The Order at this years EGX, and I've gotta say... I'm officially on board the hype train for this game.
It was basically a mix of your typical David Cage style of gameplay with some teen slasher archetypes mixed with a bit of Saw. Real long, solid demo with some good jump scares and a unique use of the DualShock's motion controls. The facial expressions were up there with the best, and the voice acting seemed pretty good.
Anyone else get a chance to play this? Or have any specific questions?
Here's a play through of the demo with the developers...
