Steam backlog shame, since we're all sharing.

I have some big releases on my list that I was super excited to play and I just never found the time to get back to them, or in some cases I bought them and became intimidated by the time commitment.

I grew up playing adventure games and tend to buy a lot of them hoping to recapture that feeling, and like a true addict it takes more and more to get my fix, but realistically I'm empty inside. My backlog of adventure titles is much larger than those listed here, but the ones listed are the ones I really want to get back to.

List items

  • Watched the QL, bought the game, got stuck on a puzzle, refused to look up the solution, haven't been back.

  • I sunk around 20 hours into the game between work and school. I had a great time with it. Life got a little hectic and I put the game down for a bit, then... well, then X-COM came out. (muhahaha, improper grammar)

  • My girlfriend wants to play through the game with me. I'm still waiting.

  • I clocked a tons of hours with this one. Got near the endgame and had to stop for a bit and completely lost the plot. Going back seems near impossible at this point.

  • I bought DMC as soon as it was available. I haven't played any of it yet. I KNOW, I'M A MONSTER!

  • Burned myself out on all the sidequests and couldn't push through the story. I've wanted to go back to it but the time commitment is daunting.

  • I love Wadjet Eye adventure games. They always have a great sense of style, combined with strong writing and a good amount of self awareness. I now own this on Steam and IOS, so there is really no excuse for not playing it yet.

  • The enjoyable combat system and rich world initially hooked me, but the quests themselves didn't keep interested. I'd like to give it another go.

  • I have GTA syndrome when playing this game. I end up just goofing off instead of actually "playing" the game.

  • The story was a bit heavy for me at the time. I instead seeked out some more lighthearted titles, telling myself that I'd eventually come back to this one.

  • By the time that I found the free time to play, the few friends I have had already moved on to different titles. Anyone want to play?

  • This game intimidates the shit out of me. Everything about it is dense. I feel as though I really need to take time to dedicate myself to this one.

  • It's another one that my girlfriend would like to watch/play with me.
