The Wiis that don't support GC games shouldn't have flaps on the top covering GC controller ports/memory card slots.

Edit: Duh, except you wouldn't be able to examine the Wii out of its box to know whether or not it has them. I guess your best bet is examining the packaging to see if it says anything about backwards compatibility?

I'm pretty worried about the swordplay, personally. I haven't gotten to the actual first temple yet (thought I did, but it was a one-roomer with an NPC), but the fights I've been in so far haven't been promising. My swings aren't consistently registering. I also can't seem to learn how to swing, slowly move my arm to another swing position, and then swing again. I wish I could turn down the Wiimote's sensitivity since I'm pretty sure that would at least fix that issue.

Not sure how to fix the mis-registered swings, though. I've recalibrated a half dozen times and I'm now waiting until I'm back in my living room before I play again. That way I can take full swings and try to exaggerate as much as possible incase that helps the game figure out what I'm doing. If not, then yeah I guess the execution of the Wii is a failure. I despise saying that, but if it can't properly handle a mechanic that a first-party game is built around, that's ridiculous.

Edit: I really am enjoying the rest of the game in terms of setting, characters, general Zelda-whimsicalness. The swordplay is my only problem with it so far, but having a problem with the game's primary battle mechanic isn't exactly trivial.

I have a off Valve and 50% off Oddbox coupons. Also, a copy of Titan Quest that I'm willing to trade. I'm up if anyone wants to trade coupons for the achievement, too.

I will stop and reload at every opportunity I get, even when I know that my loaded magazine/quiver/magic thing is full. That doesn't sound too bad, but if I were to record myself playing any FPS, it'd be unbearable to watch. I'd run from one point of cover to another, then stand still for a few seconds while I check to make sure everything I have is fully (re)loaded.

God, I do that too. Mine's probly due to paranoia more than anything; I just figure, the one time that don't reload is going to be the time that kills me, even if I've only used a bullet or two. Perfect Dark was probably when I started doing it, and now it's to the point that I'll cycle through my entire inventory to make sure everything's ready incase I get ambushed.

As in, do you tend to do things that ultimately detract from your gaming experiences?

My own vice is collectables, such as Assassin Creeds' flags, Uncharted's treasures or something equally useless. I don't care about achievements or trophies, but I'm doomed to searching every inch of a game that include collectables in an adventure. I wouldn't mind doing this on the second playthrough or something, but I struggle to stop myself from doing it the first time around. I wish I could toggle them off or something so I could just focus on everything else.

I would love to have one of those. So many premium videos I hear about or want to watch on my own, but alas...reality. :[

XIII was one of my favorites in the series. No dying to poison/randomly strong enemies after grinding for an hour, no dungeon mazes, no "go talk to everyone in town and come back" filler. People missed the towns and having a sense of exploration to the game, but I was fine with the new direction for the series. At least it was something different. I enjoyed the battle system, too, although I admit the general monster battles began to get stale. It shines when you have to switch between paradigms during boss battles, juggling abilities and a damage multiplier.

So, yes, I would pay $10 for it.

Indifferent towards pretty much all of it. I drink socially, disinterested in everything beyond that. I don't mind if my friends do drugs so long as they don't destroy their lives with it. Luckily, the friends I have that do dabble seem to act pretty responsibly with them. As in, no doing drugs and then driving or starting fights, stealing to pay for drugs, etc.

Being a successful enough musician that I could live off of my work. Don't crave the fame, but I'd love to commit whatever time I'd like to that without having to worry about a day job.

I think mine's still broken. Your present should show up in the Steam tab of your inventory, right? My total in that tab says five, but I've only got the three games I bought a while ago that I still need to gift to people. Obviously it's an error, but if it's eventually fixed is this where the gift would end up?

Yeah, have you gone to the great gift pile in the store yet? You have to click something to get the gift sent to you.

I did, but going through that link again seemed to make my stuff actually show up, so thank you!

I got a 33% off Valve games coupon that I probably won't use and a 50% off Oddbox coupon that I definitely won't use. If anyone wants to trade or...really, just wants them, let me know. If you do want to trade, I typically adore indie games :D
