Thank god, Australia had the bullshit 500 and 1000 points only purchases too. Glad to be rid of these dumb things. Though bummer if the points expire as I think I have like 5 or 10 bucks worth still lol
Adblock might as well be called "we don't want content on the internet" because that's what it does, it makes people who make content on the internet not able to do that. If everyone used it the internet would be a lifeless husk of almost nothing, like it was in the early 90s. So the only option is adblock dies or we all help content creators figure out an easier way for them to make money.
Add features? fuck I want them to take some away. Gosh I miss the glory days of pressing a power button, putting a disc in and pressing play and that being the start and end of the process to playing a game on a console once again. But if I had to go with an addition I guess backwards compatibility would be awesome so I can have an excuse to get out my extensive ps1/2/3 library in the future. Sadly the chances of that ever happening are non-existent.
Man I haven't touched my ps2 in years, think I might have to change that this week.
Question 1: Why did an 8 year old have easy access to a firearm. Question 2: Why was an 8 year old allowed to play GTA4. Question 3: Why do we live in a world where questions 1 and 2 even need to be asked.
Fuck. Just, fuck. Their is no context or excuse for this at all. You DO NOT have a household in which GUNS are EASILY accessed by CHILDREN. God damn it why is this even a thing still, how the hell do people not learn. gaarrrrhhh
I'd been listening to podcasts for a few years already and when the whole 1up implosion thing happened with ziff davis I think was when I went looking for other podcasts in 2008 and stumbled upon gb's. Upon recognizing jeff and ryan's voices I was like "OH so that's where gerstmann went after the whole gamespot thing". And being a long time fan of gamespots glory days I figured well gb seems cool so I'ma stick around.
If the game is consistently fun or engrossing that's all the reward I need. I don't really subscribe to the notion of a reward specifically being a requirement in any game. The one exception perhaps being loot based rpgs where the constant "ooh I wonder what drops next" is the major driving force, but even those get tiresome and pointless eventually.
I was shocked when I noticed this Buzz Lightyear figure just today has an incredibly Jeff-like face. Credit goes to user Alexander for the obvious edit. lol
Bioshock Infinite was pretty amazing as a recent example. But hmm, Darksiders was cool for what it teased and Saints Row 3's was just so gloriously silly. I dunno good endings just aren't really a thing games do, even the best ones tend to just be "ok".
Being able to put a disc in it, press play and not have "checking internet connection" be part of the process. I can't really think of any of their supposed features that make me more or less interested in the machine.
