Hard to avoid the hype. The greatest game of all time etc. Sat down one afternoon to play it and it was just fine. Quite pretty but a fairly underwhelming game for me.
There are lots of points that had me questioning not only the film's internal logic but also the greater established logic of the Star Wars canon. It's a very flawed script.
I think this is where I fell off with it as well. I didn't understand half of the character motivations and the logic of the world felt incongruous. I know I should just shut off my brain and tell myself "It's just dumb sci-fi" - but I dunno - the whole thing felt like mediocre fan fiction with a big-budget.
I enjoyed the year-in-review recap podcasts (they make my annual "well I guess I better clean the house" bearable) - but I do miss a number of the categories.
The categories, weirdly enough, brought about conversations that aren't discussed much when just generally talking about games. Things like 'Best Villain' or 'Character we would most like to party with' for example. These were fun and often didn't result in negativity.
'Please Stop' / 'Take a Break' / 'Worst Trend' / 'Check Yourself Before You Wriggety-Wreck Yourself' / 'Hottest Mess' also serves as a way of calling out some of the more questionable practices that had occurred over the year. Its omission does a disservice to the site's critical summation the year in gaming.
Weird suggestion but I LOVE to see them take on the Game Gear version of Sonic 2.
The Gamecube version of Sonic Adventure DX allows you to start two simultaneous sessions (on the same screen) of the Game Gear game by pressing Start on Player 2 controller.

Not only is it one of the hardest Sonic games but I think it the "race to the finish" aspect would make a fun, competitive series of This is the Run.
I dunno if the dual audio could be cleaned up in production(?) - but I kind of dig the weirdness of it all anyway.
it's been 8 or so years since I watched it but I really enjoyed the first few seasons of bleach. i think it would make a good follow up and hit some of those same nostalgia notes.
