I can't speak to the quality of the Android app but the ios app is great. It's my primary way of consuming Giant Bomb videos.

Barely OK at that. The Sonic games will never reach Sonic 1, 2, 3, & Knuckles and CD.

Yes, I would absolutely recommend it, however, I would read the manga. There are currently like 567 episodes, whereas there are only like 67 volumes of manga.
 
If you really want to watch the anime, it's available on hulu/funimation's website (some of which are dubbed if you'd prefer). They just recently did a 2-year time skip (like episode 517) if you want to watch the anime but don't want to start from the very beginning. New episodes come out pretty much every week.

Why buy a system when it first comes out? There is a real potential for hardware problems, a lack of games, newer, cheaper versions of the console come out later. Plus after you wait awhile, the games you were sort of interested in, are much cheaper. I can wait at the very least until pikmin 3 comes out. Besides, it's doubt-able that the wiiU will become as hard to find as the wii past the launch.
