It's a shame to hear about THQ's ongoing problems. I'm a huge fan of Relic, and Volition's stuff is pretty reliably quality (with the exception of the most recent Red Faction, of course).
I had a lot of fun playing splitscreen in the last-gen Turok game. Mainly because I liked being a dick with that one-hit kill grenade that sucked you into hell or something.
I also liked Star Trek: Birth of the Federation, which I seem to recall getting scored poorly. Of course, it was my first turn based strategy game, so I probably didn't know better.
"When Gotham is ashes, you'll have my permission to die."
Just take my money, goddammit! I really hope I'm not setting myself up for a big fall, but this just looks great. Tom Hardy should be a great baddie, Hathaway actually seemed to pull off menace way better than I expected in that trailer, the jump ahead timewise after TDK is an interesting move, and I like the distinct class warfare/OWS vibe that this thing is giving off. But I've loved Nolan since Memento, so I'm definitely buying what he's selling.
Because a 10 or 100 point scale reminds Americans of school grades, where a 75 was not something to be proud of, and a 60 was on the edge of flunking out. A 60% says to us "Grade F," while 3 stars out of 5, while meaning the same thing mathematically, does not sound nearly so dire, and you may well still pick it up if it sounds to your taste. Like 50 Cent, for example.
One of the joys of playing a Bethesda game is, as you are making a spell or something, thinking "damn, this seems unbalanced." Then you remember it's a single player game, and that it's OK!
RE4 HD remake had issues with its sound and was a port of a port. How does MGS HD Collection stack up? I'm leaning towards PS3 because of legacy control setup.
Don't worry, these are not hack jobs at all. Fantastic ports and the collection as a whole is put together way better than any other of these repackagings I've played. Not having to quit to the system menu to change games is great.
Only real issue I've noticed is that the lip synching on the dialogue seems to have suffered, but I would guess that this is due to the higher resolution making it clear when they were fudging it a bit in he original releases.
