This could well have come from having played through the GoW Collection a few months before the third installment launched, but this one just felt like more of the same. Stunning visuals and environments were high points, but if the developers wanted me to hate Kratos by the end, mission accomplished. A fine game marred by some vile narrative elements.

Fantastic translations of two of the best games on the Playstation 2. GoW2 in particular looks amazing. The comparatively poor looking cutscenes are really the only thing that brings the package down.

A stunning title that moves from one jaw dropping setpiece to another with a by-the-seat-of-the-pants energy. The early stealth mission had some design issues, but this is more than made up for by the imagination, variety and pure fun of the games best moments (seriously, the truck convoy has to be one of the best levels ever designed). I bought a PS3 after seeing the response this game was getting, and it surpassed every expectation I threw at it. A masterpiece.
